Look through the entire bill..
These steps will help the United States meet President Biden’s ambitious goals to confront the climate crisis, by building a national network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers along America’s highways and in our communities and have EVs make up at least 50% of new car sales by 2030, all while advancing an industrial strategy to continue to build-out the domestic EV and EV charging industry.
Do you people understand WHAT is missing?
Objective: EVs make up at least 50% of new car sales by 2030,
How many new cars sold in the USA in 2022:The U.S. auto industry sold nearly 2.86 million cars in 2022.
So let's assume for the next 6 years 50% of the 2.86 million cars are EVs or a total of 17,160,000 EV cars in 2030.
So how many new cars will be using an average of about 4,310 kWh per year.
17,160,000 EV cars in 2030 using an average of 4,310 kWh means there will be an additional 73,959,600,000 kWh of electricity needed.
The average electric power plant generates 376,244,806 per plant or to provide the above electricity for additional 74 Billion kWh/year.
That will require 197 new power plants. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. But this idiot is putting the horse before the CART!
197 new power plants at $1,661 per kWh to build new power plant Power Plant Construction: How Much Does It Cost? | ProEst
74 billion kWh needed for 17.1 million EVs will cost $122,846,895,600,000 that's $122 Trillion! Where will that come from?
Do you people understand that it will come from the 123 million households at an annual cost / household of $998,755/household!
YOU, ME and 123 million households electric bills will be increased per year for 20 years to pay for the power plants an average per household per month of $4,161 for your electric bill! And remember businesses will pass their costs on to us!

And so this cart-before-the-horse IDIOT president funds the building of 500,000 re-chargers but in the bill nothing ZERO regarding how much a new electric power plant will cost!
Again experts say it costs $1,661 per kWh to build a new plant.
We'll need 197 new power plants if there are just 17,160,000 new EVs in 6 years.
Where is the money to build these new power plants?
BUT nothing was in this dumb ass bill known as
New Standards and Major Progress for a Made-in-America National Network of Electric Vehicle Chargers
BUT nothing as to how to pay the $122 Trillion for the additional 197 power plants. NOTHING!

Biden puts the cart before the horse...and it will cost YOU $4,161 /month for 20 years!

Too funny. They are doing this to meet the dreams and demands of a guy certifiably senile and stupid.

THE KICKER: They are financing it through deficit spending like the Wiemar Republic that Hitler built all paid for on money borrowed from our biggest enemy, Red China.

Bet the chinese are just thrilled.

In 20 years by the time they do all of this, hydrogen fuel cells will be perfected making all of this EV crap obsolete. Not that EVs will ever do SQUAT to lower the global temperature because . . . WAIT FOR IT . . . the Chinese are building coal plants by the day and spew out half the planets CO2!!!

The maths is utter bullshit... Europe is doing this at the moment and it ain't costing that...

Europe is trying to bring in a law to allow your car to be a source of power for your house... This wiil allow charing at night at using the car battery during the day... this saves the consumer a lot of money...

US actual problem compared to Europe is the voltage.. US 110v makes the delivery of power considerably lower...

How long will an EV battery run a home?

And every home has 240 V outlets for one thing or another.

All of this if of sense will come without force of government. However, a little prodding is at times needed. Progs in America will take credit for something already moving in a direction. The technologies most likely exist it is the costs to implement currently. All the so-called breakthroughs were made before Joe and the Progs green extracting of money from the peasants.

EV battery is about 75KWh... So about 5 to 14 days depending on usage...

You would really only be giving over 20% of Battery (it can be a good saving on Electricity)

As long as you don't have to drive anywhere during that power outage./

I'll stick with my standby propane generator

Wind Turbines in Europe are only using 40% of the power they are using and dumping the rest...
Getting that to 80 - 90% is making them game changers...
In Europe they made so much money last year, many introduced a special windfall tax..

You can still charge the the car with the generator at night...

But if you live in a country or region with a lot of blackouts you should probably be using a hybrid..

Europe has rarely blackout that last more than a few hours even after a major storm...

Electricity prices in Europe are sky high too.

I don't see buying an electric car to power my home. I already have a reliable propane generator with a dedicated 500 gal tank.

You write:"Wind Turbines in Europe are only using 40% of the power they are using"
Where is your proof? What source because just because you say so doesn't make it TRUE!
FACT: source: EU: electricity demand 2021 | Statista.
In 2021, electricity demand in the European Union (EU) stood at approximately 2,865 terawatt-hours..
how much electricity generated was generated by wind turbines in 2021?
As of 2023, Europe had a total installed wind capacity of 255 gigawatts (GW).of electricity, enough to supply 11.6% of the EU's electricity consumption.
So as is with most people that read something but only grab a few words, "introduced a windfall tax" is what you read and then you conflated that with Wind Turbines and as a result A FALSE STATEMENT!

FACT:
Dec 8 (Reuters) - Several governments across Europe have imposed windfall taxes on energy companies this year to reign in excess profits as energy prices have soared following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In the European Union, a temporary windfall tax was approved in September to curb fossil fuel companies' surplus profits made in 2022 or 2023, as well as a levy on excess revenues that low-cost power producers make from electricity costs, and a mandatory 5% cut in electricity use during peak price periods.

NO where was there any statement that the tax was due to wind turbines! ZERO. Not one mention!
The financial statements of large European utilities indicate higher revenues resulting from steep fossil fuel and electricity prices in the first half of 2022 compared with the same period in 2021

Now finally NONE of the above has anything to do with the topic I submitted, i.e. Biden's idiocy that building 500,000 rechargers BEFORE we have the generating capability is again cart-before-the-horse mentality!

YOU, ME and 123 million households electric bills will be increased per year for 20 years to pay for the power plants an average per household per month of $4,161 for your electric bill!

Amazing how Democrats want to expand income inequality and make it worse. If they get their way then only the rich will be able to afford cars and the ever expanding poorer will be forced to take public transportation. And, homelessness will increase because, if you have to have a car because you can't take public transportation, the cost will drive you to homelessness.

NOT one piece of expert evidence from you! Who the hell are you? NOTHING to substantiate!
FACTS these are the FACTS!
If Today without building another power plant, the USA uses : 4,165,030,000,000 kWh per year generated by 11,070 power plants
FACT supporting above statement:Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
FACT: The average EV uses about .32 kWh per mile.
FACT supporting above: How much electricity does an electric car use? | EVBox.
Now for MORE FACTS substantiated with LINKS!
FACT: 13,476 average miles, an average American drives per year
LINK: https://www.thezebra.com/resources/driving/average-miles-driven-per-year/
FACT: according to the below link by 2030 there will be 26 million electric vehicles.
EEI Projects 26 Million Electric Vehicles Will Be on US Roads in 2030 |.
SO LETS do some simple math:
26 million EVs traveling average of 13,476 miles per year or 350,376,000,000 miles averaging .32 kWh/mile or total kWh needed:112,120,320,000

That's the simple math.

Summary 26 million EVs will use 112 billion kWh per year.

The average cost of constructing a power plant that takes about 3 years is: $1,661.00 cost per kWh

When you multiple 112,120,320,000 kWh (annual EV usage) X $1,661/kWh to build that's a total of $186,231,851,520,000 !
For you.. $186 Trillion dollars!
Now YOU TELL ME where "The maths is utter bullshit."?

So you now think that someone's average electric bill will be $4,000 a month.

Say hello to Mr. Roark for us Tattoo.
I know, I know, these FACTS are too hard and too complicated for a 4th grader... but thankfully the majority of readers CAN add/subtract/multiple and divide and so these FACTS are the FACTS!

Now YOU TELL ME where will the "$186 Trillion dollars! come from"?
ANSWER: The 123 million American households when the pay their electric bill for or when they buy groceries, or services all the businesses
will pass their electric power plant constructions by the utilities. That comes out to $1,514,080/ american household.
Over 20 years $75,704/ year or per month $6,309... PER MONTH!
OK so let's assume the EVs DECREASE from .32 kWh/ mile to .08 kWh/mile..or 40% increase.... geez that will mean just $3,785/month!
