Armed Citizens are Better & Safer than Armed Police!

Armed Citizens Make Fewer Mistakes Than Police. Police shoot innocent people over 550% more often than armed civilians do. Civilians are there when the crime or altercation began & know who the bad guy is. Police have no clue when they finally arrive on scene & end up shooting the wrong person. Police often live on the edge, they naturally tend to shoot first and ask questions later. The Supreme Court has ruled consistently that the police are not required to protect you.

"Don't think that just because the police are trained in the use of firearms that they are less likely to kill an innocent person. A University of Chicago Study revealed that in 1993 approximately 700,000 police killed 330 innocent individuals, while approximately 250,000,000 private citizens only killed 30 innocent people. Do the math. That's a per capita rate for the police, of almost 4000 times higher than the population in general. OK, that is a little misleading. Let's just include the 80,000,000 gun owning citizens. Now the police are down to only a 1200 times higher accidental shooting rate than the gun-owning population in general.

That still sounds high. So let's look at it in a different light. According to a study by Newsweek magazine, only 2% of civilian shootings involve an innocent person being shot (not killed). The error rate for police is 11%. What this means is that you are more than 5 times more likely to be accidentally shot by a policeman than by an armed citizen. But, when you consider that citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as do police every year, it means that, per capita, you are more than 11 times more likely to be accidentally shot by a policeman than by an armed citizen. That is as low as I can get that number.

The Kleck study shows that police shoot and kill around 600 criminals each year. Yet the University of Chicago study shows that police killed 330 innocent individuals in 1993. That means that for every two criminals killed by police, one innocent citizen is killed by police. Although I have the greatest respect for the police and how they must respond under pressure, I think that I would much rather trust an armed populace."

The average law abiding citizen is smarter than the average cop. That might have something to do with it.
Cops can more easily get away with crimes as their buddies are cops - many times they are the only friends the've got. They have sacrificed their identity for a uniform; duty, and identity are forever merged!
Power currupts! Over time many feel that they are above the law; beyond reproach.

Statistically the private gun own is a much better shot than the average police officer.

The private gun owner goes to the firing range once every other month on average, with many going at least twice a month. The police officer goes twice a year for qualifications.

Most police departments do not supply practice ammo or require their officers to practice on at least a monthly basis, with the exception of their "Swat" teams.

The high murder rate is due to Drugs thanks to the CIA. The gun is a tool. It can't cause murder. The assault with gun rate for the entire country dropped faster than cities with gun bans. Gun violence rose by comparison in cities with gun bans. There was an immediate changes in society around 1992 & it was not from government.

November 7, 1991, basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson stuns the world by announcing he tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Within 2 months the number of people getting tested for aids was up 50%. Illegitimate birth rates dropped within 9 months. Heroin & other injected drug use that had been soaring since 1960 slowed their accent.

The country sobered up a bit & quit sharing IV drug needles. People quit having as many orgies, as much sex with strangers & not without protection. Maybe even settled down & married. This must have reduce the financial stress of illegitimate births & drug use, thus lowered the crime rate. Two parent structure households create the best well adjusted children. Single parent & divorced households & unwanted children create criminals.

Why? You haven't.

There were 30,700 gun-related deaths last year - some as young as 18 months old - why do you claim 30,670 of them were guilty of something?

People quit having as many orgies, as much sex with strangers & not without protection. Maybe even settled down & married.

And you think maybe this is the reason there are so many homicides in the US?

Interesting....

In 2003 Police Shot Innocent People 550% more often than Armed Civilians Did!

"Newsweek has reported that law-abiding American citizens using guns in self-defense during 2003 shot and killed two and one-half times as many criminals as police did, and with fewer than one-fifth as many incidents as police where an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%)."

This is probably why Britain disarmed their Bobbies (police).

Pro-Abortion groups claim that abortion reduce crime. See Freakonomics link Abortion and Crime.

We know that broken families & single parent households breed criminals.

Government is the problem!!! The CIA got our soldiers violent & hooked on drugs then spread it through our cities. The AFT salted the violent drug addicts with guns. Then the police kill our innocent people. Now government wants to take our gun so their criminals & police can kill us off.

Loony Lefties hate the facts when they go against their agenda. They hate the cops when they are rioting in protest, but demand the police protect them from the scary dude with a gun.

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

Oh my goodness, the cop haters are out in full force!!!

So, the heroic "private citizen" who happens to own a gun is, just by virtue of being a "private citizen", smarter and tactically better than a cop. Guess the actual training cops go through actually regresses their abilities. Whereas the heroic "private citizen" has no training at all, yet, somehow is a better shot.

You should take a sociology class, and learn about the term "spurrious".

You see...most "private citizen" shootings occur in isolated areas where they are the victims of an attempted crime. Like a house break-in. Crooks do that...so there are no witnesses. Makes sense, right? THUS, almost never are there innocent bystanders.

Cops, on the other hand, often confront those same criminals, and many times it happens in busy cities, OR, on domestic violence calls where family members are around. In other words, police shootings often happen where there are many other people around. Private citizen shootings almost always happen when someone tries to break into their house, where there are no innocent bystanders, OR, in a drug deal gone bad.

CALEA required all accredited law enforcement agencies to required a minimum 2 years college, recommended 4 year degree, for new hires. Thats more education than 90% of the morons in our society. So you can shove that "the private citizen is smarter than the average cop" shit.

And one more thing. Of all those gun toting "private citizens" who are willing to take a shot....how many are ex-miliary or ex-cops with all their training? Many are.

Sorry to disappoint you wannabe soldier of fortune rednecks out there. But if you bought yourself a gun, and practice on paper targets with Bubba and Ricky-Lee on weekends, you are NOT trained. Idiots.

Countries that ban guns have a high violent crime rate explosion.
