Arizona Outrage at Latest Sheriff Arpaio Fiasco, Calls for Resignation

Well we see the TRUTH is coming out.

Why were the 69 cases unable to be advanced?
Because they were illegal immigrants (boyfriends of the women) who were abused or by their children.
By the time police were able to get back to the case they had moved

Guess what Flayo,

Of the 428 reopened investigations that have been completed, 116 were deemed to have no basis in fact to move forward or had accounts that didn’t add up. More than 220 were turned down by prosecutors or didn’t have enough evidence to bring to prosecutors.

Sixty-nine cases had no further information to pursue or couldn’t be advanced further.

the only ones who are outraged are the far lefties, Like Rep. Raul Grijalva and his district doesn't include Arpaio's jurisdiction. Grijala needs to represent his own district and keep his opinions out of districts that he does not represent.

Only "far lefties" are outraged at child abuse. What does that say about far righties?

Arizonians take child abuse very seriously,we just don't believe the lies that out out there .
What I posted is facts , not political rhetoric spin.

You spun the facts.

Making sure children are not abused and when they are, they are taken care of, is everybody' business, including Grihalva's. Ese?

yes it is. but they can't DO much about it IF the people don't stick around, now can they?
The article seems more of a hit job on the sheriff in my opinion.

In my humble opinion Sheriff Joe like several other public officials in Arizona as of late have lost sight of what they were elected to do. They seem to spend more time in the National spotlight and if intended or not cost the state a lot of money in nonsense litigation. Our state has many problems among them a budget with a hole big enough you can drive a truck through as well an education system that is last in the nation or at the very bottom, along with a housing fiasco that will take years to clean up just to name a few. So when we have elected officials such as Sheriff Joe who spend a whole lot more time intended or not costing the state money and brining negative attention on this state then perhaps it may be time for the Sheriff to retire. Having said that, the ultimate decision for that will lay with the people of Maricopa County and in general Sheriff Joe seems to have little or no problem getting elected. However I do wish our elected officials from John McCain, all the way to Sheriff Joe would spend a little less time on endorsing candidates and national issues and little more time on Arizona, for some as in the case of the good Sen. that might be asking a bit too much.

Some were not taken care of as they should have been. Are you reading my posts clearly or with prejudice?

some were not taken care of, because the suspects could not be questioned or evidence was not processed because they were illegals and they had moved.
If you can't find the suspects or the women with children who moved, how are you going to get those cases taken care of?

The Tea Party and Repugs supported this racist piece of shit. Oh wait, he is a Repug.

Jeff Biggers: Arizona Outrage at Latest Sheriff Arpaio Fiasco, Calls for Resignation

Less than two weeks after Citizens for a Better Arizona announced their intent to form the nation's first ever "Citizens Posse" to hold infamous Sheriff Joe Arpaio accountable for gross abuses of power and civil rights violations, an alarming new investigation just released by the Associated Press has found that hundreds of reported sex crimes, including child molestation, have fallen through the cracks of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio may have found time to set up a new posse to check President Obama's birth certificate, launch an armed "air posse" to hunt down migrants from the sky, and stroll the New Hampshire streets with failing Republican presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry last week, but the sheriff's office "failed to follow through," according to the AP, on at least "32 reported child molestations -- with victims as young as 2 years old."

In truth, reports on Arpaio's extraordinary incompetence and oversight on sexual abuse cases have been well-documented for months -- an ABC15 investigation earlier in the spring noted that "children who had the courage to come forward and say they were molested, raped or abused were simply ignored by Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives."

And I would have thought, Pink Underwear would have been a turn on for you. Who knew. :eusa_boohoo:

here you go;
Sheriff Joe Arpaio apologizes for botched El Mirage sex-crime cases
Towards the bottom of the page it talks about the 428 cases.

His office said 432 sex-crimes investigations from El Mirage and other parts of the county were reopened after his office learned of cases -- including dozens of alleged child molestations -- that hadn't been investigated adequately or weren't examined at all over a three-year period ending in 2007. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was under contract to handle law enforcement duties in the city on the edge of Phoenix at the time.

"If there were any victims, I apologize to those victims," the sheriff said in his office's most detailed public comments about the cases.

PHOENIX -- Sheriff Joe Arpaio apologized Monday to victims for his office's botched investigations of a large number of sex-crimes cases as the tough-talking lawman faced a growing outcry over mismanagement in his office.

Arpaio held a news conference to discuss the investigations in the city of El Mirage a day after The Associated Press ran an article outlining some of the bungled cases

Its very real, in fact our Sheriff has a press conference yesterday to refute calls from a couple of house members calling on his resignation. So yes this matter is very real and is not made up.
