Are republicans opposed to the leftwing simply because they don't understand it?

Food stamps have doubled in 8 years with fewer restrictions and you claim Obama is a centrist. NO asset means test on ACA, folks with a million or 3 in the bank can qualify with low income, and Obama is a centrist. Roll me one out of your bag. Obama grows socialist programs.
Oh and had Obama been successful in raising the minimum wage, far less people would be eligible for food stamps. You didn't know that did you?
They would still be poor and the food stamp limit would have to be raised Ass hat
Why would they still be poor? If the minimum wage was increased to 10.10, the price increase on goods would be pennies on the dollar. Not only that, but the boost to consumer spending would keep prices down.
Pennies add up, economics 101
Um yeah they do. Something at McDonald's may go up 10 cents while a person making $1.50 more an hour can afford to buy a lot more on the menu at a time.
A human in today's modern society will purchase or make use of 200 or more products. From food to toothpaste.

If you add that 10 cents to each item, you come up with an increase of 20 dollars. That means if you raise the minimum wage to 10 dollars per hour, an increase of $2.75, the poor person is losing $17.25. This assumes that just each item add only 10 cents to cover the increase in wage.

So much for your vaunted compassion and living wage.

Republicans seem to only use labels such as "socialism", "communism", or "facism" in regards to the left. They make outrageous claims like Obama and democrats want everyone to abandon their jobs and live off welfare. They think liberals wants to end capitalism as we know it.

None of this is based in reality but they believe it anyway. They just believe what they want to believe. Do they even understand what liberalism stands for? I think if they did understand it, they would embrace it.

When will facts permeate their stupidity bubbles?

Well why don't you take this opportunity to educate us, tell us exactly what the left wants. Please be specific, no bumper sticker slogans.
A minimum wage people can live off Minimum wage was intended to be a way for a person to enter the workforce and gain experience, not as a living wage, why should it be now?

The minumum wage in terms of inflation is stuck in the 60s. 18 million people make less than 10 per hour. Don't you think that's a problem? Millions of people have NO CHOICE but to accept low wage jobs.

Regulations to protect the environment, food and drugs.

Medicaid only pays for so much. Poor people can't afford basic cancer treatment. Big Pharma makes all it's money off of the middle class and wealthy.

Shift most of the tax burden to the wealthy. This will improve education and infrastructure. Both of which improve jobs for the middle class.
Lets put that 18 million in perspective. That means that over 94 percent of the population is making over minimum wage. Of the 5.6 percent that is making minimum wage, how many are teenagers or young adults who live at home or are entering the work force for the first time?

Just throwing out numbers means very little without context. A 5% minimum wage rate is not the crisis some people would like to make out.

Apparently you don't understand economics. Not everything will go up 10 cents. Many prices won't change at all actually. The boost to consumer spending from bigger paychecks will Lower prices

That's easy to do actually. The average person in fast food is 29 years old. Most of that 18 million are adults.

One small correction. Dark. That 94% only represent about 50% of us that actually WORK. The other half live off of our taxes. In otherwords...the leeches sucking our tax money out in WELFARE.

Most of the tax burden is already on the wealthy.

The wealthy mostly. Bush in 2003 and Obama extended them.

Apparently YOU do not understand economics. An increase in minimum wage is an increase (or downward pressure) on economic growth across the entire economy. Even companies that pay more than minimum wage will need to raise wage and prices to offset the raising of the floor. However, you are correct that not every price will go up the same amount. Some will rise more than 10 cents while others will only go up a few pennies. The point, however; is that the prices will be going up across the board.

This nonsense about cherry picking McDonalds as a justification for slight price increases is overdue for being exposed as the brain dead response it is. One has only to look at the percentage of people who frequent McDonald's versus the number of people who use multitudes of products that will be similarly affected. And for what? To provide aid to less than 6% of a population that can and is likely moving upward in wage all without the aid of the Federal Government.

So you're saying if we raise the minimum wage to 10 dollars that will end dependence on Medicaid, food stamps and section 8 housing?

We have the EPA, FDA, USDA they regulate everything from pollutants, toilets, light bulbs, hot water heaters, drugs, what food is acceptable for live stock, to how much energy your appliances can use, what more do you want?

Medicaid pays for a lot of thing Tricare doesn't pay for our vets, like dental and eye care.

Tax the rich, tax the rich, exactly how much is enough? Federal spending is nearing 25% of GDP, how much more do you want, 30-40-50%? You want more money for education, how about you justify the nearly 2 trillion dollars we've poured in the DOE, exactly what's gotten better?

Well true, but I wanted to keep it simple for Mr Trips. The main point was that it is a very small percentage of the population as a whole, and I didn't even cover the fact that those who are making minimum wage are simply doing so as a stepping stone to better wages. The economy is not stagnant as he suggests, but always in flux.

You of course, have an unbiased source for that? Because if a person is 29 years old and has been in fast food making minimum wage since 17 or 18 (A period of 11 or 12 years) the problem is not the minimum wage. IT is the person.

And apparently you did not answer My question. How many are first time workers or young adults living at home?

Once again, there appears to be a leftist with a solution in need of a problem.

Who the fuck lives on minimum wage, or even stays there more than a few months.

Minimum wage was never meant to be a living wage, it is an entry level starting point.

The whole minimum wage issue is bullshit.

Again, answer the question. How many are young adults entering the workforce for the first time, or living at home.

A person who is 29 is 11 or 12 years removed from when people traditionally enter the work force. So, if after 10 years you are still making minimum wage, the problem lies with you, not the wage.

Even the dimocrats don't understand it. They just follow along like a wet puppy. They will vote for a goddamn baboon if it's got a sign hanging around its neck declaring it's a dimocrat.
The Constitution makes no mention of parties.

We need an amendment that makes any reference to party on a ballot illegal.

Then, the bloc voting straight ticket idiots either put some thought into who they vote for, or stay home where they belong.

Sorry buddy, the middle class killed itself off voting for demagogues that promised domestic tranquillity could be ensured by giving the masses bread(food stamps, rent subsidies, etc) and circuses(subsidised pro sports, for example) on borrowed money($18trillion in debt).

The same bullshit brought down Rome.

Most minimum wage workers live at home in middle class families making $50,000.

Google it yourself, I am tired of posting it.

Most fast food workers don't make minimum wage for more than about a month while they are trained, and prove they can show up on time, properly dressed, and with a decent attitude.

BTW, how old are you?

What is your level of education?
