In 2018, things started turning around for the Dems - R-61, D-37, with no change in 2020, but in 2022, R-57 and D-40. The Southern States have been solidly Red since the 1960's and 70's, which has resulted in their standings in health, education and welfare steadily declining.

The longer the Republicans have controllled a state, the worse off that state is in terms of education, income, infrastructure and health care.

I seriously doubt that. Despite Trump's 80% approval ratings among Republicans, at least 40% of Republicans are consistently voting for someone else in the primaries.
