I don't believe anyone is telling you what you must believe. That's your fairytale.Do you argue against the existence of unicorns or leprechauns? The reality is that atheists don't believe in God because he doesn't do magical things. If you ask me, anyone who believes that the creator of existence must do magical things to exist are the ones who believe in fairy tales. From an evolutionary standpoint compatible with major religions:
One sees in nature an evolutionary hierarchy of species - those at the lower ends of the hierarchy, such as insects, are the most materialistic - having little mental or spiritual awareness at all other than physical impulses or sensations
While more-evolved species, such as mammals display higher cognitive or mental abilities - those at the highest ends, such as humans - display higher mental and spiritual concepts such as sciences, arts, music, meditation, and dance.
-
If a human embraces materialistic atheism or secularism, he therefore is taking the direction of devolution rather than evolution - as his mind is devolving back in the direction of "beast", embracing base, materialistic pleasures such as sex, porn, and fast food, rather than higher, "spiritual" pleasures such as music and art.
It could be argued then, that those of spiritual enlightenment, are at a higher level of evolution than crasser, materialistic-minded atheists are, and therefore deserving of more humaneness or rights, rather than the false notion that atheists are somehow their "equal".
LOL you fairy tale believers are such a hoot!
I believe in a personal God and I don't believe he is pulling strings and making things happen. You don't believe God exists because he doesn't do magical things. Why would the creator of existence need to do magical things? Please share with me your fairy tale.
The reality is that I don't believe in any god for the same reason I don't believe in unicorns or leprechauns or that the lightning is caused by a god hitting things with his hammer.
The reality is that generally I don't care what fairy tales a person believes in, until like the OP, he decides that United States needs a state mandated church, and that atheists need to be treated like rapists.
And the reality is that most fairy tale believers are not like the OP- 'thank god'- most Christians, and Jews, and Muslims, and Buddhists are decent folk- just like most Atheists are.
What exactly is a fairytale believer by the way?
If you were to tell me that everyone in the United States must believe in unicorns and/or leprechauns- then yes- I would mock your belief in unicorns and leprechauns.
What exactly is a fairy believer? A person who believes in fairy tales.
Good thing my beliefs aren't fairytales.
