In recent science fiction, the idea of digitally preserving your identity after you die has been explored by a lot of authors.

This movie explores one engineer's attempt to rejuvenate his dead wife and put her mind inside an artificial body. As the film opens few decades into the future, he has already made two attempts (J1 and J2) and is working on a third, all out of sight of his employer while using their resources.

J1 has the intellect of a six year old. J2 has the intellect of a 16 year old. These robots have feelings and J2 even has dreams, which conjured up the memory in me of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. That novel was the basis of the movie Blade Runner, and there is a definite homage to Blade Runner in Archive when our hero visits his favorite bar to meet with a risk assessor.

This is a good little movie, and sad in some places. The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous.

The engineer is racing against time before his distant employer pays a visit to find out what the hell he has been up to.

This one is worth watching.
