State of Disgust!
Now that it has become a crime to not support the rich, one-percenter, insurance companies by buying into their scam game I'm left with a question. I was just offered a salaried position with another company but my insurance policy won't kick in until the second month of employment. That means I will be without medical insurance for two months. Will the IRS penalize me in 2016 for that two-month lapse?

You have to let the COBRA bite you.

Way too pricy. I'll probably just pay the illegal fine which would likely be cheaper.

Oh for crying out loud.

This has been explained to you nutters SO many times and every single time, you screech and holler about a gay Kenyan commie socialist but do you ever pay attention?

Nope.

There are miles of info here as well as countless web sites.

Avail yourselves of them.

:rolleyes-41:

The only one I saw screeching was you, Luddly.

You're lying but --

Way back, I used to try to actually discuss ObamaCare but instead of facts, there are some here who only want to whine and cry and screech.

Facts are available for anyone who wants them.

Alternatively, you can choose to join in the incessant OMG my health insurance cost went up 9568% and its all Obama's fault whine fests.

Its your choice.

Hey dummy. Remember when Pelosi said that the law had to be passed before anyone could know what's in it? She said that because nobody (including anyone in Congress) had the time or desire to read the "miles" of endless legal jargon that described the law. People are STILL trying to figure it out.

But you're right about the gay Kenyan commie thing.

Does your wife work and is insurance available there? You can take out a policy at her work, because there has been a change in work status with her spouse, to cover you and her and your kids for the 2 months, then you can drop the insurance with her work, when your new work status makes insurance avail at your new job.

If your wife does not work or insurance is not available at her job, then you can go on the Exchange and get coverage for your family for the 2 months, then drop it when insurance is available at your new job....and notify the Exchange.

My wife and I are separated and she lives in another State. However, eagle1462010 brought to my attention that we're "allowed" to be without insurance for up to 3 months in a given year. So it appears that I'm safe.

you can be uninsured for 3 months out of the year, but I would do what Care4All suggested. Im a Certified Marketplace Counselor
