Police camera shows final moments before man killed Flagstaff of - FOX 10 News fox10phoenix.com

AGSTAFF, Ariz. -

Flagstaff Police Officer Tyler Stewart lost his life in the line of duty last month. He was killed while investigating a domestic violence incident.

The Flagstaff Police Department released video from a body camera that Stewart was wearing during the deadly encounter. It shows how the deadly encounter unfolded.

The actual shooting is not shown, but the moments leading up to it are test, dramatic, and some may find them disturbing so we do want to warn you ahead of time that this is tough to watch.

The video shows a typical response to a domestic violence call, it captures the moments leading up to the deadly confrontation with Robert Smith. It starts in his patrol car on the afternoon of Saturday, December 27, 2014. The officer was looking for a suspect in a domestic violence call.

He found the man, 28-year-old Robert Smith in a neighborhood off west Clay Avenue in flagstaff. Stewart questioned Smith about what happened between him and his girlfriend. During the conversation Stewart asks for permission to search Smith to make sure he doesn't have any weapons. In a split second, things take a deadly turn. Smith pulls out a .22 caliber handgun and fired on the officer.

Flagstaff Police say the video goes on and you would hear three shots, the camera falling to the ground and then three more shots. Then nine seconds of silence, followed by what investigators say is the sound of Officer Stewart's service weapon cycling, then a seventh and final round is heard.

Officer Stewart was pronounced dead a short time later.

Smith took his own life after killing Officer Stewart. He was on the force for less than one year and was the second officer to die in the line of duty in the history of the Flagstaff Police Department.

The Maricopa County Sheriff Arpaio's Sheriff's Memorial Fund donated $25,000 to Officer Stewart's family.

When will white people stay to stand up against violence? Where's Pat Robinson?

How many cops have been killed by white guys in the past 12 months? Seems like enough whet the police should stay randomly questioning law abiding citizens just to be sure

I thought the cop was talking to a buddy or something at first. The video cut off before you even see the guy that shot him.

Pretty sickening, the guy commits suicide afterward. Based on his demeanor, you would have never known he was that much of a loose cannon.
The officer had a body camera, wonder if he also had kevlar on ?

Take a step and here shows their concern....for race. No mention of the cop because their hurt feelings are more important.

Are you guys Muslim or NYPD?

I looked at it again. For some reason the first time I watched the video it cut off when he knocked on the door.

No national news or nothing? Not even Fox News brought in anyone to discuss "white culture" or crime in the white areas? No talk of broken homes, domestic violence skinny whites in coats (but but Ray Rice and NFL players et al)?

No calls for denouncing violence?

And people wonder why cops are so tense and controlling?
Yes. If you cant handle the job dont sign up for it.

Their job isnt to die. So they are tense and controlling. Thats "handling" the job.

Pussy cowards like you who have never risked your own life on behalf of a greater cause wouldnt know about that type of stuff that our cops and fireman and certainly our military do.

Unless of course....you're applying to be a cop and show the world how to REALLY serve??? You are right? Or are you an all talk pussy?

Actually that is known hazard of the job. If you know that and you know you are an asshole maybe you shouldn't sign up for the job. Your chances of provoking someone go up exponentially when you are a dick.

You're such a racist POS, CC.

Will Obama and Eric Holder show up for the Funeral...umm nope, the dead cop is the wrong color

How come liberals screech and holler when the racist is white but you cant find one when the racist is black.
