Another socialist cabinet member, who would of thought.

I think most of those on the right wouldn't know a real socialist if they are saw one.

1.
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole

We haven't seen anything close to real socialism in this country! But some people just have to believe everything that scares them that their talking head ideologically driven leaders tell them!

We have social egalitarianism, punitive taxation and redistributive justice (or at least the perception thereof to meet a political end).

I would call Obama abducting a business socialism.

That's probably one of the most fucked up and tyrannical things a US president has done in the history of this nation.

Yes I would call the US government seizing the means of production socialism. What the fuck would you call it? a fucking intervention?

What the fuck do you call the stimulus(s) or cash for clunkers program?

Government regulations?

Carol Browner.

Van Jones (was juuuust a little to above-board about his socialist proclivities and resigned).

Valerie Jarrett.

Cass Sunstein.

Ron Bloom.

Mark Lloyd.

John Holdren.

Kevin Jennings.

Donald Berwick.

I said current Administration.

Last I checked, Carol Browner, Kevin Jennings, and Van Jones aren't there. Also link to where Browner is a socialist? Same for Jennings?

Do tell how Cass is a Socialist.

How is Bloom socialist? Because he quoted Mao once?

Same thing for Valerie Jarrett, some evidence would be nice for any of your names.

I assume you call Lloyd one because Glenn Beck used that one clip. Lloyd himself said he doesn't support Chavez.

Don't see how John Holdren is socialist.

Can't recall Berwick but I'm sure you can remind me.

I think you've been listening to Glenn Beck too much.

Are you fucking serious?

Yeah well what type of capitalist would quote Mao once?

The only reason why Obama continues to fire his Czars is because they open their arrogant socialist mouths to wide.

Obama appoints staunch socialists to his team er czar collection - they spew their bullshit and Obama being a socialist that is too coward to admit he's one fires them because he doesn't enjoy being called what he is.

We've only been doing this for 2 1/2 years now.............

What we have here is a problem with reading comprehension. Please show me when Obama employed real life socialism, not the far right's version of socialism. Man, you guys fall for anything your misleading talking heads tell you!

Let me post anothert definition for you blind followers:

gul·li·ble   [guhl-uh-buhl] Show IPA
adjective
easily deceived or cheated

For a self-proclaimed "no labels" guy, you seem awfully dedicated to narrowing down the label of "socialist".

Whatever.

In any event, who was it who held forth that the role of taxation was to, rather than provide for legitimate gubmint services, "spread the wealth around"?

Which political ethos is it that holds "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need"?

Do you need a map drawn for you?

No Democrats are proposing anything socialist according to the definition of socialism, in the congress or cabinet.

No Democrats call themselves socialists.

You're entitiled to your opinion...but you're not entitiled to redefine the word socialism to justify your electioneering driven fear tactics that simply dumb down the concept of socialism so whenever anyone proposes a tax increase, you call them a socialist.

The only people who are accusing Washington Democrats of being socialists are in the anti Obama media, and the people who liten to them. Which is pretty much like letting MSNBC define why George Bush invaded Iraq, and inisisting that MSNBC's analysis is correct.

Bernie Sanders is a Socialist, this is a pretty well known fact.
But he's not proposing any legislation of a socialist nature.

so·cial·ism noun \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\

Definition of SOCIALISM
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

I don't know how many times the definition of real world socialism as been posted on these boards,,,,,but it's lost cause. The those-who-need-to-be-in-fear crowd have already bitten and swallowed the scare tactic and damn it, they are happy with just another thing to be afraid of!

Well Oddball, when you go to the point of labeling something wrong, are we supposed to sit here and let you continue to be misguided? I'm just trying to help you out, that's what people are supposed to do, help those who are crying for help. Even when they are crying for help in a subliminal way.

The GOP's push toward a plutocracy is a much bigger worry for the average American.

But the average working Joe's who are biting into the benefits of plutocracy do have something to gain out of all this,,,, the bread crumbs off the tables of the alleged job creators. And it's a fact that many have been waiting for years and years.
I've been posting on boards like this for well over a decade and I have seen the same argument over the years,,,they keep on keeping on waiting and waiting for their undying devotion to pay off and for the wealthy to bestow something,,anything. And here they are, still waiting and waiting and waiting. And during this whole time, their income just keeps on losing out to inflation, because of the flat wages that have been going on for decades. And what does determine wages? The bottom-line. Yet the bottom-line has been great for the very few in the US, but wages just keep on staying flat no matter how great the profits.
It seems that Main Street America is finally getting a clue. The Town Hall Meetings for the likes Paul Ryan have turned ugly. A majority of Americans want to rich to pay their share in getting our country's fiscal house in order. People are tiring of getting left out of the economy, while the wealthy just grab more and more of the economy.
But of course, people wanting their part of the economy because of their hard work,,,,well to some, that's socialism or the redistribution of wealth!!!! We see it repeated constantly on these boards and usually by people who too have lost out on the economy!!! They just haven't had the moxie to "get it".
