Comedian and political commentator has identified the above-stated principle is the absolute highest level "moral" dictate of Leftism. And while it seems innocuous, it ultimately leads to great evil.
No philosophy is "better" than another. No religion is "better" than another. No moral code (or the complete lack of one) is "better" than another. No society is "better" than another. No culture is "better" than another. No lifestyle is "better" than another.
To say that one of these is "better" than another is to be JUDGMENTAL, and that is the one unforgivable Leftist "Sin."
This is why Leftists cannot criticize single motherhood. You can identify a hundred different social, personal, and legal ills that strongly correlate with single motherhood, but a Leftist will never overtly condemn single motherhood, because to a Leftist, it is a "lifestyle," which can never be criticized because to criticize it is to imply that different lifestyle is "better." Which would be judgmental.
This is why No leftist can criticize Islam, despite the fact that Islam (as manifested in countries where Islam is the prevailing religion), treats women like chattels, outlaws homosexuality, punishes non-believers, and encourages banishment (if not genocide) for those that Islam considers undesirable. Lefties must be terribly conflicted about this, because Islam is completely antithetical to so many issues that Leftists claim to feel strongly about. But to criticize Islam would be to imply that other religions (or no religion at all) is superior to Islam - and that would be judgmental.
And this is why the President refuses to accept anything remotely acknowledging "American Exceptionalism." American has fought dozens of wars around the globe with absolutely nothing to gain, but to assist people in need or in danger (e.g., Iraq). America has poured hundreds of billions of dollars around the world to help countries with very little expected in return, just because those countries are in need. American charities donate, money, goods, food, and untold hours of assistance, medical care, and so on, around the world, for no reason other than to help people. But no Leftist will ever even imply that the U.S. is exceptional or that it deserves any credit or recognition for the mountain of funds, in-kind assistance, lives risked and lost, or any of it. Because to take that credit would be implicitly to say that our actions or our approach or our attitude is "better" than that of, say, Sweden.
Closer to home, you will never hear a Leftist even hint that the people in our prisons are somehow "worse" than those of use who live outside. Indeed, their attitude seems to be that it is mere happenstance that some people end up in prison and others end up outside. Are those "bad" people in prison? Hell no! They are merely the ones who got caught!
Just for fun some day, ask a Leftist if the culture that came over to the New World with the English and western European colonists was any "better" than the culture of the "Native "Americans." Point out that the Europeans were almost incomprehensibly more advanced in, say, transportation, communication, architecture, the arts, metallurgy, agriculture and animal husbandry, and navigation. The natives hadn't even invented the wheel by the time of Columbus. They had NO domesticated animals that could do work. In essence, they were hunter-gatherers living a stone-age existence, with an average lifespan in the 40's. If the two cultures had been forced to merge, there is NOTHING in that of the natives that would have been worthwhile retaining, except possibly some herbal remedies and treatments.
And in the face of these facts, watch the Leftist stutter and stammer around, and deny that the European culture was any "better" than that of the Native Americans. S/he will recoil at the very thought of assessing the conflicting cultures as "better" or "worse."
