On a hill
Paul Giamatti could make a movie about anything, and it would be good. He could make a movie about some complete loser, working a dead end job and who does nothing but complain everyday about everything... and it would be good.
But - that IS what this movie is. But with a twist.
It is a true story of a boring, self loathing loser named Harvey Pekar. Who lived in a loser city... Cleveland, OH.
After years of failure, two failed marriages his destiny changed. He met a well known underground comic book illustrator and Harvey was convinced he could write comic books. He turned some ideas into his friend... and the rest is history.

Harvey Pikar. So many people would give their right arm to appear once on The Tonight Show with David Letterman... he didn't want to do it. But he was so popular on the show, he appeared 6 times. He was uncontrollable, Letterman lost control of the show everytime Harvey appeared but the audience loved the guy. Harvey Pekar is one of the funniest people on the planet. But it was never on purpose. The audience would laugh hysterically and he would look at them having no idea what it was he said that was funny. And then do it again and again.

A true story that can't possibly be true... but it is. Harvey Pekar. America's greatest accidental comedian that you never heard of.
