When did we become a democracy?

They are not equally fords in the eyes of the consumer.

One is faster, stronger more asthetically appealing. The other is slower, softer and less attractive. One is deemed the elite of the fords and the other deemed as the joke of the fords.

If one were offered either one for free, they would always choose the Mustang.

By definiiton...they are both fords....but this is a classic example as to where "basic" definition does not apply in itself.

What these polls show is that Obama and the Dem's 'blame' meme is working well. Surprise, surprise.

I don't think the meme is working as interpreted. Indeed people don't like 'Republicans' however, they do agree with the policies that are being argued for. At the same time, they don't trust any of the political elites to legislate what they are discussing. It's not the 'brand' of either party, it's those entrenched and 'entitled' that are the problem.

I agree that the Democrats are more successful at hanging labels on their 'enemies,' however they have the problem in what they're preaching, no one wants to buy. Higher taxes and more entitlements aren't selling.
