AMAZING....Some R-W'ers actually like Sanders...

In chatting with some of my right wing-leaning friends, some actually like or even admire Bernie Sanders.

So, what is it that keeps some republicans from translating that admiration into votes?

First and foremost, I've been told, is this somewhat misleading notion that the label of "democratic socialist" is an anathema in our culture....that we've been conditioned to presume that socialism equal communism and that capitalism would be wrecked by any social-leaning policies.....Yet, our military is a perfect example of a "socialist structure" and both social security and Medicare are the very definition of socialism. After all, many of our closest and well-governed allies function in a socialistic system.

The second, "problem" for backing Sanders is his age....Yet, he has a very good report on his health status, and seems as spry as virtually all other candidates. Our life span has considerably gotten longer, and even if Sanders were to serve only one term, his policies would set a standard that under a social democrat administration, many good factors....both social and economic.....could be improved.

So, what is the problem?
Are they like the same "right leaning folks" here like Toro that would vote for a soda banning, salt stealing, gun grabbing asshole like bloomberg? The GOP has turned into nothing more than RINO's. No surprise that a lot of their supporters are as well. Sanders IS honest and DOES have principles but so did Ron Paul. I won't vote for him but I like more than I like Clinton.

If they admire Comrade Sanders then they aren't right wingers.

But if you mean Republicans , then you are right. Republicans have voted for such Marxist programs as the Federal Reserve Board, the 16th Amendment, social security, etc.

When Hitler took over as Chancellor of Germany all the laws necessary to effectuate the fascist nazi platform had been previously adopted by the Bismarck and Weimar administration.

When Comrade Sanders becomes the 45th President all the laws needed to effectuate the socialist state were previously adopted by the Demopublicans.

I also find it interesting (in a sociological sense) that we ALL bitch about how corrupt, untrustworthy, cowardly, ineffective, lazy, etc.....our government is (especially congress).....Nonetheless, we refuse to even entertain some changes, such as those proposed by Sanders.

Indeed, we get the government that reflects what we are worth.

The fucktards such as yourself somehow believe that socialism is merely a fashion statement.

My retarded friend you will soon find out it will bring about misery and tyranny of greater proportions.

AMAZING....Some R-W'ers actually like Sanders

Yup, 2 categories of them:

1. The Washington Establishment GOP Leadership who are pissed Americans are rejecting them by supporting Trump and NOT Jebby.

2. Conservatives / GOP who know the majority of Democrats won't vote for Sanders, resulting in an even MORE historic and record-setting ass-kicking for the Democrats than they received in 2014!
:lmao:

All career politicians are extreme progressive leftists, r or d the same diff.

Hey, I'm about as right wing as one can legally be and I LIKE Sanders.

He seems deluded but honestly believes his delusions and I feel he's likely to do those crazy things he hadvocates.

True, he'd take America down very quickly but one reaches an age where it's clear that's what is on no matter who wins and Nutty Old Uncle Bernie is the most likely to get on with it and do it in wonderfully fun-to-watch ways!

And yes, I could vote for him so long as there's nothing positive on the menu.

I disagree with about 90 percent of what Sanders says, but he admits what he is and he has far more credibility than Hillary ever did.

Tough to discuss an important issue with morons....like you.....Most of our allies are semi-socialists and somehow they don't see themselves miserable and under tyrannical rule..

Tell you what....Hug your guns and try not to vote.

Too funny. Of course you have right-leaning friends who support Sanders. After all, conservatism is based upon socialism. Everyone knows tha

If your reading comprehension would approach the comprehension of a 7 year old, you too would understand that my friends stated that they like or even admire Sanders, but such does not mean "support".....
Hard to find a smart right winger on this forum, isn't it?

Your intent was to intimate that Sanders has conservative supporters. Don't play silly games.

You misunderstood your friends...
Everyone should appreciate the ethics and refusing corruption of Bernie. Almost non-existent in all of politics. But that by no means makes us agree with his policies.

What do you make of some of the responses in this thread?

You miserable piece of shit.

You don't mind tyranny so long as you are fed and made feel secured by the socialist state.

Producers and taxpayers can go fuck themselves.

Sweden and the Myth of Benevolent Socialism

Fact 1: Sanders is proposing a lower tax rate than Nixon or Eisenhower.

Fact 2. Sander's proposal of a single payer health care system would rebuild the solvency of the middle class, and allow them to consume without having to go into as much debt. This would help the economy but hurt the insurance monopolies that overwhelmingly fund Republican politicians.

Fact 3. His regulatory proposals don't even rise to the levels we had during the postwar years - a time of unprecedented economic growth.

Fact 4. He has been a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and comes from a rural state with a lot of hunters and gun owners.

Fact 5. He is going to end the parasitic free ride of Wall Street and Big Pharma. In other words, he is a direct threat to the mainstream Right and Left.

They're also really, really scared of words they don't understand, words like "socialist." The attach one meaning to it and they freak out every time they read or hear it, :lalala: any attempt at reasoned conversation.

Most understand it just fine, and all attempts at reasoned conversation with socialists is impossible.

They won't support Sanders because they know if their like-minded friends found out they'd laugh at them.

They don't support Sanders because he's a blithering idiot.

I can't handle his policies or his constant hand movements in time with his words. He looks like Leonard Bernstein conducting the New York Philharmonic.

Then why does he refer to himself as a socialist? Are you implying that ole Bernie is less than honest?

meh... no worse than the far right that still thinks trickle down actually works.

No, he refers to himself as a "democratic socialist" ....and there IS a difference...Most likely Sanders is counting on smarter voters to know the difference.
Bwahahahah!!! You think Sanders voters are smart!!!!

sanders voters are highly educated. ... unlike trump voters. are they smart? yes. also idealistic.

they are voting out of how they want the world to be...not out of what they are afraid will be... unlike trump's angry white people.

sanders voters are highly educated.

And really, really, really bad at math.

so spaketh a rightwingnut with whom no reasoned conversation is possible.

not in my world. in my world if you said you were going to vote for trump, you'd make people vomit.

They don't support Sanders because he's a blithering idiot.

no. he isn't. you simply disagree with him.
