AMAZING....Some R-W'ers actually like Sanders...

Sanders and Trump represent two sides of one coin. They represent the undeniable truth that voters are sick and tired of the existing power structure. That's why Jeb can't get out of single digit support, no matter how much money he has access to, and why Hillary can't generate any positive buzz at all. They're both establishment candidates, whereas Sanders and Trump are the most anti-establishment major candidates out there.

I think you nailed it. We are wanting something that is not the status quo and both Sanders and Trump are answers. Not sure if they are good answers or not but they are answers.
Exactly. Trump is anything but a conservative, yet he's getting a lot of support from them.

hahahaha. no he isn't.
Isn't what, conservative or getting support from conservatives?

Then why does he refer to himself as a socialist? Are you implying that ole Bernie is less than honest?

No, he refers to himself as a "democratic socialist" ....and there IS a difference...Most likely Sanders is counting on smarter voters to know the difference.
Bwahahahah!!! You think Sanders voters are smart!!!!

sanders voters are highly educated. ... unlike trump voters. are they smart? yes. also idealistic.

they are voting out of how they want the world to be...not out of what they are afraid will be... unlike trump's angry white people.

sanders voters are highly educated.

And really, really, really bad at math.

Apparently, educated doesn't mean able to think logically any more.

they may like him. even my father says he could be friends with him.

but they'll never vote for him.

and trump's first ad will be the red army marching with hammers and sickles

Unfortunately you may be correct on the negative (and untruthful) ads against him......The U.S. voter will NEVER be "accused" of voting with their heads....instead they vote emotionally...which explains Trump's popularity.

*YAWN*..what's next on your agenda? the ole "I know you are but what I am" routine? If you're going to try your hand at flaming at least try to do it with some wit otherwise you're not even interesting enough to bother making fun of.

Ask me IF you're worthy of "witticism"...

The bottom line is this....Although we have other countries (heavily taxed) BUT enjoying the unity of purpose and receive from their respective governments a much more salutary lifestyle (proof of that is the longevity and "happiness" factors in several polls) .....conversely, Americans do NOT trust our own government to do the right things for their constituents......

So, we'll keep on doing the same crap, fight wars, praise a capitalistic system that often screws us, and fall prey to demagoguery by charlatans.

It's likely, at least to me, that these folks that are RW but kind of like Sanders are moderate or somewhat mixed in terms of their views, as I can't see a far right conservative liking much about this guy.

I've said it before, I like Sanders. I wouldn't vote for him, but I agree with some of what he has to say, especially about large banks and wall st., as I think they're a huge problem in this country. If I thought he could actually do anything about that I might vote for him on that issue alone as I think it's that big of a problem at this point.

Thing is, I don't think he'll get anything done there, as those pussbags own Congress, and the rest of his policies: expanded health care, free college etc., while I agree with on a feel good level, I do not see any way to pay for. I don't think he's going to get any cooperation from Congress on any of that unless the Dems get both houses which is extremely unlikely, so we're looking at another 4 years of gridlock, which we do not need.

ETA: the other thing is, if he wins I could at least respect him. I think he has some amount of sincerity, so I could at least deal with the guy, regardless of whether or not I agree with his politics...Hillary - No.

nat4900, here's the problem:

Too funny. Of course you have right-leaning friends who support Sanders. After all, conservatism is based upon socialism. Everyone knows that.

Simple-minded souls who surround themselves with people who believe exactly what they believe and who can't imagine that anyone would have friends of different political persuasions.

They're also really, really scared of words they don't understand, words like "socialist." The attach one meaning to it and they freak out every time they read or hear it, :lalala: any attempt at reasoned conversation.

They won't support Sanders because they know if their like-minded friends found out they'd laugh at them.

Schoolyard politics. Blend in, act like everyone else. Nobody wants to be the unpopular kid.

I like him. Seems like a nice old dude. Way too extreme on the Communist stuff though. He's not a credible Candidate for President.

And he isn't a socialist. He does not advocate nationalizing industry or doing away with capitalism. All he's interested in is making sure all people have health care and a college education so we can compete on the international stage.

trump is a fascist, and we certainly don't need that.

Then why does he refer to himself as a socialist? Are you implying that ole Bernie is less than honest?

I don't care what he calls himself, he makes sense. Here's the title of his homepage on his website:

"Nobody who works 40 hours a week should be living in poverty."

Realize if that is someone's situation, which it is if you work for Walmart, then who picks up the tab and fills in the gaps? Taxpayers.

So pay now or pay later. But it's probably cheaper to pay now. Preventing something is always cheaper than trying to fix it later.

Exactly! Zero hours a week in poverty is better. Because that will reduce welfare.

When you actually have a viable counterpoint and solution, post it. (We can always count on the unwashed masses here to post drivel.... But it helps USMB sell advertising space.)

How nice for you, I'm sure Bernie really appreciates that, only thing left for you to do to complete your indoctrination is send him all your money and he'll send you a nice thank you note wrapped around a rubber cookie.

"I sell the things you need to be
I'm the smiling face on your T.V. -
I'm the cult of personality.
I exploit you
Still you love me
I tell you one and one makes three.
I'm the cult of personality" -- Living Colour, Cult of Personality

Do you think that is what happened to the residents of Vermont? This guy didn't just fly in from Canada, you know. (ahahahahaaaaa.....)

Ah, I could put this on a plaque with the title, "Standard USMB Right Wing Response"

I could use smaller words to help you out.

Tell me again how firing all the poor folks at WalMart would reduce welfare spending. Durr.

And why Obama ever won...

Obama was a backlash vote against the failure of the Bush administration. Dubya's approval rating was down to 22%, his answer to why the economy crashed was, "...Wall Street got drunk" and we were still in Afghanistan and Iraq with no end in sight. It was a cake walk for the right Democrat, and Hillary wasn't the right Dem. She still isn't.

I bet you could use smaller words. Let me help you, "Fucking Idiot". That better? Because no one advocates firing Walmart workers, you fucking idiot. A living wage, yes.

Yes, it really highlights your essence.
