Cohn's Faustian advice to Trump was to NEVER apologize, even when caught in a blatant lie (such as Trump's claim of huge crowds cheering on 9-11; the size of his inauguration crowd; the number of "illegals" voting; his claim of the most electoral college votes, etc.)

Trump knew that the Sessions' screw ups were very damaging, and he opted to cast a bomb shell of an accusation to DIVERT the news coverage to his accusation...leaving his minions out in the cold trying to defend the indefensible....But Trump does NOT care and probably instructs Spicer and Conway and anyone else to NEVER apologize since that sick base of his will always side with him.......

Trump has a problem either way in his accusation of Obama "wiretapping" the orange clown.

If Trump was not wiretapped, he invented a spectacularly false charge and should be crucified for it.

No one forced the Trump campaign or it's officials to be in constant contact with Russian officials. No one forced them to lie about said contacts.

Communications of Russian officials are almost always monitored. Any transcripts of conversations most likely came from that.
There really was no reason to monitor communications on the Trump end unless there were probable cause revealed in their discussions with Russian officials. In which case a judge would need to grant a warrant to do so.

Trump as president has full authority find the truth on his own. He should have done that before saying anything.
