Allergies

One of my pugs goes out every morning when I get up. When he comes back in he is swollen in his face and ears and broke out in hives on his belly. The other 3 pugs dont show any symptoms. I give him bendryl and it clears up in an hour or two.

I cant figure out what he might be allergic to. This is his second summer and he did not do this last year. Nothing around the house has changed either.

Anybody ever heard of a dog breaking out in hives?

Closest vet is a 2 hour drive away. If it happens again tommorw I guess i will have to though.

It sounds like contact dermatitis of some kind. Hes rolling or brushing up against something that is irritating him. Do you watch what he goes into to try and narrow it down?

Mylo has allergies to foods and grass. When she spends time in grass, she turns red and itches on her belly.

Sheesh she's a pain, lol.

Take the pug somewhere else for his am walks, in the meantime. He's getting into something and if it starts affecting his breathing, you could be in a world of hurt.

Figured it out. He had a tick hid in one of his cute rolls of fat. Removed the tick and no swelling. I even use frontline on all of them and he still got one.

Stupid ticks. One of the reasons I brush my saint religiously...He's picked up 2 so far this season..one was attached to his ear.
