It should be obvious, even to those who are not scientific minded, that the way to clean up the water, air, soil, promote aesthetic beauty, and protect the envirnoment and the creatures of the Earth is to promote more affluence among the people. Humans who have plenty to eat, a roof over their heads, and their basic needs met have the leisure and inclination to also protect and enhance the environment they live in. Those who do not will put their basic needs ahead of any environmental interest.
That is not happening in the developing world. Nor here. Monsanto is killing all of our honeybees (some say they are building a patentable bee that would pollinize only their products, which is so horrifying to think about, it makes me rage). Industrial farming is destroying our rivers, the soil and the Gulf. Then look at China. They have huge swaths where they have to pollinate by hand because they've killed off all their bees. Look at their rivers and air. They're getting richer and richer, and their environment is being killed off at an alarming rate. PC just wants to allow any corporation rape and pillage any and every natural resource it wants without compensation to the community or country (in her jobless pea brain, nothing should belong to the whole country resource-wise). Then I wonder what she would have us do.... after everything is used up and barren.
