Robert E. Lee was a defeated traitor who should be condemned instead of being celebrated.

Robert E. Lee was a brilliant strategist and tactician and leader of men - he inspired a generation of Southern men and he was admired by friend and foe alike in his lifetime.

He was a loyal Union Man but refused to fight against his own neighbors and fellow Virginians; heck, Lincoln offered him command of the whole US Army and Lee refused it.

He was a devoted and loyal defender of the Republic and the Constitution until circumstances forced him into becoming a feared and respected and honorable foe.

But Leftists have been pitching your line-of-thought for so long that they have come to believe their own bull$hit as more generations have spawned and learned to whine.

This kind of nonsense is directly attributable to the racism in the US south, that refuses to die.

You can't legislate how people feel.

People tend to associate with others of their own color, and marry amongst their own color, and live amongst their own color; it's part of the human condition.

And, when you look at your average White community vs. your average Black community, one tends to understand why Whites vaguely prefer it that way.

The trick is not to let one's natural and instinctive racial biases overwhelm our rationality and to do intentional damage to one another on account of race.

And of course, Trump use of the vile racism sentiments for his political purposes.

He was just clumsy about it, and tacky enough to exploit it explicitly... not to worry... we'll go back to tacit and implicit separatism in our politics soon enough.
