Actually, this is good news. When Erdogan´s NLF, whose members (at least some) claim to be worse than ISIS, loses ground and if they can´t retake it, it is far more easy to liberate all of Idlib as political barriers fall apart.

"The Turkish-backed rebels have had another rough day in northwest Syria after their former jihadist ally launched a major assault across the Idlib province on Tuesday.

Taking advantage of the weak rebel defenses, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham stormed several areas across the Idlib Governorate, today, seizing up many towns and villages that were previously under the control of the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front.

According to local reports, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has captured over 15 towns and villages from the National Liberation Front, including Tarmala, Naqir, Zaqim, Al-Al-Qasabiyah, Al-Hamidiyah, and Al-Koulin.

Some reports have indicated that Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has captured the strategic Jabal Shashabo region along the Hama-Idlib axis; however, this remains unconfirmed at this time.

It appears that at this juncture in the battle, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham is attempting to capture the entire Al-Ghaab Plain and southern countryside of Idlib from the National Liberation Front."

so you are claiming Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham are the good guys

and

you are claiming the NLF are the bad guys?

Bleipriester ??? can you explain?
Of course I can. They are both equally evil but HTS has no international backing and if there are no "moderates" backed by some Nato countries, Idlib can be liberated without "international outrage" and massive support for the jihadists.

that doesn't explain how you categorize one group as bad and e group as good.

Why is the NLF bad?

Then we can ask Why is the HTS good?

Okay, I get this: Syria conflict: why does Idlib matter and what could happen?

Fears of a refugee crisis and ‘killbox’ as rebels prepare for likely last stand against Assad

Why does Idlib matter?
Pro-government forces are massing in Syria’s north-west for what could be a large-scale offensive on Idlib province, the last opposition stronghold in the country. The UN has warned of the “worst humanitarian catastrophe” of this century if the attack goes ahead, since there are no remaining opposition areas to which those fleeing Idlib could be evacuated.

The province is central to the outcome of the war and also the fate of the broader region. As the seven-year conflict draws to a close, each participant in the war, Syrian and non-Syrian, is trying to secure their interests, many of which run through Idlib. But few of those interests align. Most are mutually exclusive.

...

As the numbers of people have mounted, fears have risen that Idlib is being set up as a killbox – a place where jihadists are mixed in with civilians to reaffirm a Syrian government narrative that the 2011 anti-Assad uprising was all about jihad in the first place. Assad’s officials have branded all those who stood against him as terrorists, and years of dehumanising language has clouded the reality of who is living in Idlib and to whom they are aligned.

yet: Syrian Rebels in the Idlib Province Form 'National Liberation Front'

The National Front for the Liberation of Syria announced that it had destroyed a Syrian regime operations room located east of the city of Idlib, whose countryside is witnessing military buildup in preparation for a regime offensive despite Turkish-Russian efforts for a settlement.

I already told you they are both bad. They are even the same. Criminal groups that start fight each other as soon as there is a pause in the fight against the government. But again, NLF is backed by the Turks and this is an obstacle. If HTS does the job and defeats NLF, the result has only advantages. It cannot be a bad thing when terrorists fight each other.

"Al Zenki were largely defeated by the rival rebel group, HTS in January 2019.

According to the Amnesty International, the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, along with the 16th Division, the Levant Front, Ahrar al-Sham, and the al-Nusra Front (HTS), were involved in abduction and torture of journalists and humanitarian workers in rebel-held Aleppo during 2014 and 2015.

Nour al-Din al-Zenki, along with the Abu Amara Brigades, has been accused of executing people by throwing them down buildings when they still controlled Aleppo.

2016 beheading incident
On 19 July 2016, during the Aleppo offensive, a video emerged that appeared to show al-Zenki fighters recording themselves taunting and later beheading a Palestinian boy named Abdullah Tayseer Al Issa. In the video, they claim he had been captured while fighting with the pro-government militia Liwa al-Quds. Liwa al-Quds denied this, and claimed instead that Al Issa was a 12-year-old Palestinian refugee from a poor family who had been kidnapped."

Its a terrible thing when terrorists fight each other -- terrible for the innocents who always pay the price. Heck, there are more of them there there have been westerners killed by jihadist terrorists.

You chose a side. Your choice is not based on Syrian interests or the interests of Syrians under the iron fist of Assad?

The weaker the terrorists are the smaller and shorter the battle for Idlib will be. The iron fist of Assad is smashing terrorists since decades to allow normal people a normal life.
