African Americans and the Democratic Party

Excuse me, more whites collect welfare and food stamps than blacks.

Yeah, that's because there are five times as many whites as there are blacks. Percentage wise, it is higher among black Americans than whites.

Welfare did not put black at the bottom of the economic chain, it is discrimination.

Discrimination was the reason 50 years ago. Today it is the welfare state and the inner city gangster mentality.

Hand out? Blacks gave 200 years of free labor, any hand out they get is pay back for what their ancestors were cheated out of. Black slaves had nothing to pass down to their families, etc. Whites did and on the backs of black slave labor which they benefited from and still is. We can never compensate blacks.

This is not an excuse in the 21st century. Blacks have been given every opportunity to move upwards within society: affirmative action programs, scholarships, etc. It is their own subculture that is keeping them impoverished.

Democrat, Clinton, reformed welfare so what is the other exucse for blacks favoring democrats.

Clinton signed off on welfare reform after once vetoing it and then having his hand forced by a very conservative Congress.

What grew the welfare system is GOP sending jobs overseas and putting millions out of work forcing them on welfare.

The Republican Party has not sent a single job overseas. Companies send jobs overseas and they do it because of the policies of both Republican and Democratic politicians.

What will bring equality to america is when those who are created equal is treated equal.

I agree, so you tell your fellow "Native Americans" to get their lazy, drunk asses off of the Indian reservations and start contributing to society instead of sucking off of the welfare state.

Until then, we wil always have the poor and disadvantaged.

Regardless, there will always be the poor and disadvantaged because of human behavior.

Black are disadvantaged from childhood by the white system of things.

And poor white kids are also disadvantaged from birth. Nobody is born into the same set of circumstances, but the only person to blame for not bettering yourself is you.

I can see you are one of the "good ol boys."

We've all known for quite some time what a senile kook you are, so it's quite ironic for you to be insulting somebody else.

That's a weak analogy. Politicians and their supporters love to whore out their service record for public adoration like pretending McCain was Audie Murphy. Obama never claimed anything more then citizenship.

Personalty, if a politician served I think that is great! Photo copy your DD214, post it on the web and then shut up about it. There are a lot of people out there that have given a lot more to and received a lot less from their country then these people only out to help themselves.

And every person who is employed in the United States and claims to be a citizen is required to provide proof per the 1-9 requirements...

Questioning someones integrity does not make them a racist. A conspiracist, perhpas...a troublemaker...maybe...but to claim it was race related is irresponsible and minimizes the importance of true acts of racism.

I couldn't agree more, assigning motive to each and every individual that had a doubt in their mind is dubious to the extreme. The vast majority of them probly have no racial motivation what so ever. However, the ones that pushed this nonsense out from under the rock of conspiracy theories to the fore front of the minds of ordinary everyday Republican with their insistence that it was not only possible but FACT chose to ignore the evidence on record (that has been acceptable for every past President) and pursue the issue any way.

Its like that saying that has taken hold in my side of the fence... Watching Fox News doesn't make you a racist, but if your a racist, you probably watch Fox News.

If your not paying attention to the motives of your sources, don't be surprised when you get lumped in with them.

Its always amazing to me how blithely idiot's throw around terms like racism and labeling people whom they have utterly no idea who they are as racist. Your Statement is without merit or any factual basis.

Ironic....very ironic..

With folks like you MarcATL...those whites that do NOT treat African Americans differently than they would treat whites ARE racists.

And those that treat Africn Americans differently than they treat whites are not racists.

Folks like you make it all too confusing.

Not true.

I believe this site is majority white, I'm probably one of, at most 5 black people, as far as I know.

With that said, what percentage of the whites on here have I called racist or suggest are racist or called them out for acting racist?

The answer is relatively few. A minuscule amount. So WHY in the heck are you overexageratting the issue unless you just want to promote more partisanship and division?

Its really simple...if you don't want to be called, labeled or be mistaken for racist...don't do or support or defend racist things.

Not confusing at all.

Dont support racist things?

How am I to determine what you deem as racist?

I was told I was a racist becuase I supported the Obama/chimp characterization that was no different than the Bush/Chimp characterization.

I never saw it as racially motivated for either POTUS. I saw it as referring to the actions of nboth men as equivalent to the actions of a chimp. Heck...racism didnt even cross my mind. If anything, Bush looked more like a chimp to me than Obama.

Ironically, it was the left who cried "racism"...and the only way they could do so was for them to think that Obama looks like a chimp.

Now if that is not ironic...then what is?

If you don't or can't understand how referring to ANY black person as a chimp or monkey considering America's RACIST history of that word as it relates to blacks...then I don't know what more one can or should tell you.

I'm sick and tired of repeating myself.

Get a clue....seriously.

Please offer me which president in recent history was the son of a non citizen and admitted to spending a good part of his life as a child in another nation?

You are aware, of course, that it was THOSE reasons that people had reason to question his eligibility to be president.

Please explain to me where "being black" would give people reason to doubt someone is a US citizen.

It was not rascially motivated. There is no proof to such and nop logic that lends credence to it.

You want a tissue with that? it doesn't diminish what I said your statement is without merit or basis.

Yeah it's a sad game.

Inner city african americans who live at the bottom of the economic chain have been convinced by democrats that welfare and food stamps are good things. When in fact the worst thing you can do for someone at the bottom of the economic chain is to kill their drive and pursuit of getting out of that by giving them handouts.

Hypothetically when given the choice between getting $1000 in handouts or pushing yourself to maybe get $1500 on a paycheck, lots of people would choose the $1000 no matter their race.

Fact is both parties will grow the welfare budget about the same every, just the democrats use this in their rhetoric to gain inner city votes, and republicans use being against it in their rhetoric to gain the votes of others.

Welfare, the Drug War, the Department of Education, all things that need to be ended to bring equality to america.

Excuse me, more whites collect welfare and food stamps than blacks.
Welfar did not put black at the bottom of the economic chain, it is discrimination.

I can see you are one of the "good ol boys."

You're excused, common sense will say of course there's more whites on those things, but you gotta look a little deeper and look at percentages. What % of black americans vs what % of white americans.

And no I didn't ever own slaves, so it's not my responsibility to be taxed more to pay for something past generations did. And if that's what you think do you think we should do a lineage investigation of every african american, find out if they're related to a past slave and base how we fund different blacks on those facts?

Bush's welfare budgets were all way way way higher than Clinton's, so if high welfare is a good thing to you than you should've loved Bush's 8 years.

Inner city blacks are disadvantaged by welfare, the Drug War, the department of education, hence why I want to end those things. Now I'm not going to stoop to the idiotic pulling of the race card because we disagree on issues, I'll leave that to you, you've proven to be good at it.

Ditto big time.

I never owned slaves. None of my ancesters owned slaves and I sure as hell am not responsible for what happened in past generations.

I think the blacks owe one hell of a debt to anyone who gave thier life while fighting for the Union during the Civil War.

I think they should pay the ancestors of anyone who was killed in the Civil war. After all part of the Civil War was to free the slaves was it not??

And thats sounds about as ridiculous as holding present day white Americans liable for what happened 200 years ago.

As for Native Americans?? They got conquered plain and simple. There just weren't enough of them to hold onto what they had. Of course they were lied to and every treaty made with them was broken.

Whats funny about the Native americans today is that those who don't live on a reservation are doing pretty darned good for themselves. Anyone caught Stossels report on Freeloaders got the lowdown on that.

Get a clue....seriously.

So let me get this straight....

Becuase people a half a century ago and longer used a chimp to describe a balck man....then I must now treat balck men and white men differently.

It is OK to call a mindless white man a chimp....but when I see a mindless black man, I must apply race to my actions and NOT call him a chimp.

Uh.....isnt it racism when you apply a persons race to make a decision as it pertains to that person?

Nope, what I was saying was if you're going to stand with a particular group you should make damn sure you know what they stand for.

I provided the link you asked from Jarhead, a simple 5 second google search achieved this.

lol....I guess he truly wanst aware of the situation.

Coming from a man who gives off the impression he is worldly and up on current events.

Guess that shows you where HE comes from.

If I should have been aware of it.....exactly what was the obvious indication?

More importantly....

If you are going to call an act of someone racially motivated, you should make damn sure it is.

SO that being said....how are you so sure the birther issue was racially motivated?

Seriously?

In terms of racial motivation? Yes

Racists who hate Obama because he's black will pick any issue to hate him on, it's not specific to the birther issue. They'll hate him for breathing, not where he was born.

Comparatively democrats will hate Bush no matter what his military record was, but yet they'll still make a big issue of it even though it doesn't affect their hate.

I'm on your side that the birther issue was an idiotic joke, but not racially motivated.

REALLY?

According to a NY Times poll.....24% of Americans doubted he was a citizen.....and another 13% were not sure.

And your proof are signs found on the web?

And please...tell me how that sign you used implies racism?

It is a picture of a man who people questioned whetrher or not he was a legal citizen and working in the US legally......where is it racism?
