Two paroled sex offenders who authorities in Southern California believe raped and killed four women, allegedly wore GPS trackers while committing their crimes, and investigators believe there may be more victims.

The two were complying with a requirement to check in monthly with authorities and police had no reason to watch them more closely (they said), and hadn't received any such request from other agencies. The Orange County district attorney's office said Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon, who were arrested Friday, were each charged with four felony counts of special circumstances murder and four felony counts of rape.

Well, obviously there WAS a whole lot of good reason to watch these guys more closely, as these rape/murders now show. So what are the police talking about ? They're saying that according to the mandates that they go by, the criminals were not required to be watched 24/7 (as criminals in a prison would be). As a result of budget cuts, there are now gaps in the time during which guys like this are monitored.

Nice, huh ? So all the criminals have to do is choose the times when their ankle bracelet GPS's aren't being monitored, and go out and commit their crimes THEN. Pheeeeww!! So somebody out there is putting the protection of the public, and the lives of citizens,on the back burner behind spending cuts ? First, it was building more prisons was too expensive, so they went with ankle bracelets, Now, even full monitoring of the ankle bracelets trackers is too expensive for the cut spending fanatics. This is BAD, people. Very bad.

But this is exactly the way it was described by a former FBI Special agent, on the Shepard Smith Reporting TV show on Fox News. So once again psuedo-conservatism, with its small govt, low tax, low spend creed, that frequently shows up as budget cuts, strikes again. How long the list must be of Americans killed, injured, or otherwise harmed by less law enforcement, resulting from budget cuts. And when will the small govt, cut spending psuedo-conservsatives come to realize that this is NOT conservatism. Sheeeesh!
