Like Tony Blair before him, Gordon Brown is only to eager to visit our troops in Afghanistan. Not because he really cares, but for PR and soundbites in the belief that it will make him look good. The proof of that lies in what Brown did once the general election was announced. He imposed a media blackout on news from Afghanistan until after the election. Reporters are banned from the Afghan front line, senior officers are prohibited from making public speeches and talking to reporters, and MoD websites are being cleansed of any non-factual material including anything containing troops' opinions of the war.
So, on the one hand, he uses the war and our troops to bolster his own image when it suits him, but when news from the front might make him look bad, he imposes a news blackout. This man is not fit to run a gents lavatory, let alone a country!
Fuck off Brown. Your country doesn't need you!
