It certainly works in places like Japan, and Britain where gun violence its almost nonexsistant. In order for a gun ban to be effective in the US it would have to be enforced with overwhelming force from the National Guard or Military as this country is absolutely flooded with guns, and many people idolize there guns almost like pagan gods. Any gun ban in the US that is not enforced by heavy, and aggressive National Guard or Military presence is not going be very effective in the US.

She is angry because she wanted to ban the sale of assault weapons which already exist, but was not able to get enough votes to do so. Therefore, the AWB did not stop people from being able to get high capacity magazines or assault weapons. That is what the clip is from, and that is what the show is about.

You saw an out of context clip and drank the piss.
