Watching all the insane crowing about an off year election, you have to consider the following.

President Obama got 69 Million votes in 2008 and 66 million in 2012. These are STILL the two highest vote totals ever achieved by ANYONE in the history of the United states.

So how many votes were expended to send knuckle-draggers to the Senate in nine states?

69 mil and 66 mil? It only takes a majority of 1 vote. Why, all the excess votes might just get Obama a free shot of Kentucky bourbon with Mitch.

Hmm, let's see. Votes from one state are going to equal votes from 50 states? You libs are pathetic in your efforts to minimize the carnage you just experienced.

Similarly, the mean temperature all over the US across the span of voting hours was 2.1 degrees colder in 2014 than it was on 2012 and a full 3 degrees colder than in 2008. See, that explains everything. Useless facts thrown into an analysis can look good but they don't mean anything.

Here's something more solid for Joe to chew on. Every single voter still alive who cast a vote for Obama in 2012 had an opportunity to reaffirm their confidence in him. Many choose not to. The only way to construct an affirmation is to count the votes, not rely on past votes which were not affirmed in the last election.

More of the poor loser whining and crying the libs are doing.

Joey boy, if you keep up those great wars, on women, gays and blacks, that will help you boys win big in 2016, look how well that war has done for you in 2014. Keep it up Joey boy, you guys are on to something.

Something else to consider with regard to ballot initiatives:

'In South Dakota, voters approved a measure to raise the federal minimum wage up to $8.50 next year, and after that have their minimum wage increase with inflation. Voters in Alaska are also expected to approve a similar measure. And in Illinois, voters backed a nonbinding measure encouraging lawmakers to raise the minimum wage in that state.

This happened even as the same voters chose to send Republicans to Washington and their state capitols -- the same Republicans who have been blocking minimum wage legislation. Confused? Perhaps the voters were, too.

For instance, in Alaska, enthusiasm for raising the minimum wage was so strong going into the election that Republican Senate candidate Dan Sullivan reversed his previous position opposing the minimum wage hike and came out in support of the ballot measure. As Katrina vanden Heuvel wrote in the Washington Post, anticipating these votes, "It shows, once again, that the American people want to see genuinely progressive reforms" -- even when, vexingly, they aren't voting for progressive candidates.'

The good news is your on the final steps of working through the grief. The bad news is you've been sent back to 3rd grade for some remedial math tutoring.

Why should voters be confused. Some Republicans, like me, support minimum wage increases and I know full well what the consequences will be, but I'm looking for other effects to counteract the negatives.

Clayton even jumps in on the whine fest.

Libbies are scrambling to spin this loss into a win.

LoL!

The population grew significantly from the previous record set by Bush '43 in 2004, so yeah Obama got more votes.

The fact is, more people voted for the right side of the aisle than the left side of the aisle. You couldn't get your supporters out to support the agenda you sold them.

But go ahead and do your sour grapes routine.

Democrats can just remind the newly elected congress that obola won two years ago. It's amazing the difference two years makes.

Here's Joe's argument in another form.

A man marries a woman. The husband then cheats on his wife. The wife claims that his cheating doesn't count, what counts is that he married her 30 years ago. Others though will look upon the husband's cheating as a statement about the worth of his marriage.

The opinions voters expressed about Obama in 2012 had an expiry date of 2014. Voters this year had the opportunity to reaffirm their devotion to their messiah and they chose to instead withhold their affirmation. What we see instead is people voting to stop what Obama is doing to them. It's the "What have you done for me lately" model that counts.
