Been there done that both ways all ways. Recently I had a black man ask if I needed help changing a flat in center city Philly. I have always found (almost always) that it is those who experienced life on the poorer side of the tracks are more charitable and open to everyone. Their grammar may be a bit slangy but their heart and soul are pitch perfect.
