I don't think it is stated which weapon he used. However, the man who shot the church shooter certainly was using one. Thanks for reminding me of that fact. He saved at least 25 lives thanks to his AR!

Actually the shotgun is far superior for that. So much so that they are outlawed by the Geneva Convention. The M-16....is not.
