A Chinese Pearl Harbor-style attack could end America’s days as a superpower

Ask Putin how that worked out
Russia's military was a rusting hulk compared to what the Chinese have built (and what they are still building at a fast pace).
China has never fought using modern warfare
That's what the Russians said of the Japanese prior to 1905. Western arrogance that backfired disastrously.

They are very, very busy... adapting our combined forces doctrine for their own use... trying to tweak it to be even better.

and it’s Navy has no capability to extend itself globally
At the rate they're building aircraft carriers, submarines and guided missile cruisers and destroyers? That won't last long.
Who is China going to attack?
The United States of America.

Oh, they may not attack our mainland in the foreseeable future, unless the conflict goes nuclear - God forbid...

But they will attack our forces in-theatre overseas at Point A or B or C... all of that to be determined by future events.

Distinct possibilities include the South China Sea, the Philippines, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Gulf Region.

Hell... if they cozy-up enough to Central and South America countries, even New World clashes would be possible.

The trick to avoiding such conflicts is to have the common sense and vision to identify, evaluate and counter such possibilities.

Rather than resting on increasingly aged and outdated laurels and mindsets that have little bearing on future contingencies.

Oh, certainly, we need to find a balance between envisioned threats and practicality and budget...

But to believe them unlikely to attempt a brawl with us is to consign ourselves to defeat years before the brawl begins.

No thank you.

Now is the time for the Biden administration to take the China military threat seriously and come up with a plan to mitigate it beyond phony rhetoric and buzzwords.

If not, and if China smells weakness like Imperial Japan did, war in Asia could once again be a part of our future.
So, where would this mythical Pearl Harbor like attack take place? With what weaponry? With what forwardly projected naval force?
Nimrata and her ilk’s pandering to funnel even more money to the military contractors have the gullible moving along like lemmings to the sea. China is and has been making big moves, in consumer markets and trade.

China is looking to extend influence in the South China Sea.
The US extends power through alliances with Japan, S Korea, Philippines and Australia
Not only has China never fought using modern warfare, they have never conducted major Naval Operations or made an amphibious assault.

Yes, China can launch an attack but would face severe military and economic consequences

I have already provided for the economic consequences in my first in this series.

As to the military, given a large enough navy and air force, they will calculate 'acceptable losses' before any potential aggression.

And what is their end game?
What do they gain, what do they lose

Engaging the West in a military conflict is a net loss for China

One successful EMP strike is all it would take. Despite what our military could, and would do in retaliation; the US citizenry would become ungovernable. Which to a certain extent would greatly diminish the need for a military in its current sense...
One?
One will take out everything?

Interesting.

No one wants war except for a few elites who benefit handsomely from war.

In a sane society, these elites would be removed from society and ostracized.
Yep, unfortunately we have allowed them to amass to much power, so much we are basically powerless, voting does no good they just suppress the vote one way or another, so they can continue.
