86% Of Swiss Glaciers Were Retreating In The Year 1900

What "fossil fuel funded think tank" is that?

ATI (American Tradition Institute), which is a spinoff of ATP/WTP (American Tradition Partnership/Western Tradition Partnership). Do keep up. That was back on page 2.

It says nothing about discovery.

"and a conclusion that plaintiff has alleged enough to move his case forward to the discovery stage."

Pass the popcorn. Just like NRO, you're shitting yourself over the upcoming discovery. What do you think your heroes are so desperate to conceal? They're plainly hiding something, being how badly they want to avoid discovery (after first bragging how much they wanted discovery). That's the opposite of Dr. Mann, who wants full discovery.

What evidence do you have that it's "fossil fuel funded?"

ROFL! Sorry turd, but all they did is attempt to get the case dismissed and the judge denied their request. This supposed fear of discovery is purely a product of your imagination. There is certainly nothing in the document you posted that indicates any such concern. Getting cases dismissed before they go to trial is standard operating procedure for lawyers, and if any case ever deserved to be dismissed, this is the one.

You realize, don't you, that Columbus didn't land on the island of Hispaniola until 1492, don't you? That was long after the beginning of the Little Ice Age.

Incorrect. NASA dates the LIA as 1550-1850, with the most serious cold snaps around 1650, 1770 and 1850. Some massive vulcanism around 1250-1300 got the ball rolling, but it took the later greenhouse gas loss to spiral temps down further.

You mean Jim Hanson dates it as 1550. Jim Hanson is a hack who has been caught taking bribes and doctoring his data.

Geez. Do I have to do all of your homework? Best I can tell, you have the internet too.

SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: Who's behind the 'information attacks' on climate scientists?

Now at the American Tradition Institute, Chesser again finds himself speaking for a group largely bankrolled by fossil fuel interests. According to its most recent filing with the IRS, ATI last year received $40,000 from its sister group ATP, which in turn is supported by oil, gas and coal interests. It received another $5,000 from the Atlas Economic Research Foundation, a Virginia-based think tank that since 1998 has received over $1 million in funding from Exxon Mobil; between 1997 and 2008, Atlas also received $122,300 from the Koch foundations and $735,000 from the Pope foundation.

But ATI's biggest funder is Montana businessman Doug Lair and his Lair Family Foundation; they contributed $5,000 and $135,000 respectively to the group last year -- over 75 percent of its total income.

Lair’s fortune comes from Lair Petroleum, the family business that was sold in 1989 to William Koch, the lesser-known brother of Charles and David Koch. As recently as 2010, Lair Petroleum was listed as Lair’s employer in state campaign finance reports, although now he’s also an investor in commercial and agricultural real estate.

And thus you fall back on your 'tard conspiracy theories.

A sane person would entertain the thought that they could themselves be wrong.

Stupid and crazy people, OTOH, declare the impossibility of that, and instead invoke a bizarro world fantasy where everyone who disagrees with them is part of the vast global socialist conspiracy.

What "conspiracy?" Hanson has been caught red-handed taking over a million dollars in payments that he's not allowed to take without permission from his superiors. This money all comes from environmental groups with a pro AGW agenda, of course. That doesn't demonstrate any possibility of bias on his part, does it?

Hanson has also been caught numerous times revising the temperature data he publishes. Errors in his calculations have also been demonstrated on several occasions.

Yeah, all those errors and corrupt behavior are the result of one vast denier conspiracy, right?

BTW, the only ones in this debate denying the possibility that they are wrong is the AGW priesthood. You and PMZ and Abraham keep claiming the science is "settled" and the "consensus" has determined the facts and that you aren't allowed to question the claims of the IPCC.

Well now, Dave boy, why don't you just link to where Dr. James Hansen said that? Or be shown to be a liar.

Here...if the words are to big or you just can't find his references to glaciers and the damage 385ppm is doing let me know and I will point it out to you.

http://www.columbia.edu/~jeh1/2008/TargetCO2_20080407.pdf

So do you now think he is an idiot for saying it or do you agree with him because he is your hero?

Umm.. guess you are

ESL, Dave, right?
Nope.

Then you were willfully and knowingly telling a falsehood. That's a shame. I tried to give you an out, but...

Hansen didn't say boo regarding glaciers, ergo, you lied.

Guess you didn't bother reading the rest of the paper...he didn't lie but you are an idiot.

From page 11 of that paper:

Alpine glaciers are in near-global retreat (69, 70). After a flush of fresh water, glacier loss foretells long summers of frequently dry rivers, including rivers originating in the Himalayas, Andes and Rocky Mountains that now supply water to hundreds of millions of people. Present glacier retreat, and warming in the pipeline, indicate that 385 ppm CO2 is already a threat.
