6 months after Sandy, thousands homeless in NY, NJ

Obviously Obama's response has been entirely inefficient. Those thousands of people who are still homeless because of Sandy are witness to that effect. Oh, that is right, maybe they don't count because most were middle class Americans who actually owned their homes and did not live in the projects.

An easier way to say it is "they weren't black." See, white people can never be victims of a black president.

Yes they can. One of the things the GOP ran on in 2012 was White Victimhood .. and lost. :laugh2: So in essence, white Republicans have been victimized twice by a black President

You attack Sean Hannity's honesty and then you spew that disgusting lie into the forum?

Remember the outcry about Katrina? No need to worry suffering and hardship under Obama is different.

Katrina was far worse. Can't compare the 2.

And the government responded much faster and in greater capacity for Sandy.

Yes, Katrina was far worse. And President Bush was hammered by the libs for his "insufficient" response to Katrina. Sandy wasn't near as bad as Katrina, yet it seems that President Obama's response has been much worse than Bush's was for Katrina. How come we don't hear those same liberals hammering Obama over this?

Immie

This is a bold faced lie. Do you not remember Christie getting hammered by the Republicans for his praise of Obama for his actions? It helped Obama win the election. You are either uninformed, or not too truthful.

really? Local Democrats were in charge of FEMA?

Yeah fema told them not to load the hundreds of school buses with people to get them above sea level and save people and the buses. Oh wait a minute.

Sean Hannity's 'buses' story bullshit? :clap2:

Buses in New Orleans abandoned by Mayor Nagin rather than used to save citizens of NOLA. Just imagine the people that would have been saved had Nain adhered to the Evacuation Plans?

There is not a single way that the response to Sandy was worse than that of Katrina. Katrina was a study in gross negligence. Criticism of Obama's response to Sandy is just spin from the right. There were people from the state and federal government on the ground the next day.

Moron, In New Orleans all the bridges were out for 2 days and the airport was under water. And of course there is the minor fact that the Governor positioned NO national Guard assets in or near New Orleans. Nor were all the emergency sites listed nor handled by the City as required. Katrina took out 3 States all Obama had to handle was a small area in new York and New Jersey. 6 months and thousands are still living in SHELTERS. Ya great response.

Aaaaaaand couldn't list a single way that Obama's response was worse than Bush's.

WHY did it take so long to get Sandy rebuilding funds through congress? :eusa_eh:

Oh, that's right:

"Democrat and Republican leaders from Sandy-battered regions had pushed for the disaster aid’s swift passage, but political jockeying by right-wing lawmakers dragged out the process"

$1.8B in post-Sandy federal grants might not reach homeowners until July | NJ.com

obama has no problem using an executive order, what happen this time?

To appropriate funds? :doubt:

The gross negligence from katrina, came from the local democrat leaders.

I don't believe there was gross negligence from either side in either situation. My point was that the hypocrites from the left hammered Bush for the problems in New Orleans as if those problems where his fault, but when it comes to Obama and Sandy and the trouble that the people in NJ and NY are facing... they have remained amazingly silent.

Not that one should expect anything different from the MSM.

Once again, there are still people in NJ and NY who are homeless and suffering because of Hurricane Sandy. Do you hear about these people today? No, you don't and that is because the liberals and the MSM worship Obama.

It would be a damned good bet that if Romney were President today, we'd hear a hell of a lot about the continued suffering of the people affected by Hurricane Sandy and the lack of concern shown by the President and his administration.

It took two weeks to move a shipping container that floated onto Beach Channel drive blocking access to West 16th Rd. Today there are still those that own home that are refused entry to rebuild. FEMA has not made any effort to assist in the restoration or rebuilding. Places like Breezing Point, Broad Channel and all those beach areas in New Jersey are being denied few or no funds to rebuild.

I would guess that you, as a left winger, would rather submit a lie than tell the truth ..

The reasons the bill was in trouble is that the Democrats loaded it with so much pork.

The pork-barrel feast includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. It also includes a whopping $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC.

An eye-popping $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

Other big-ticket items in the bill include $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center; $41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storm’s path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; $4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida; $3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.

Budget watchdogs have dubbed the 94-page emergency-spending bill “Sandy Scam.”

$58.8 million for forest restoration on private land.
$197 million “to… protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.”
$10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief.
$17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program.
