Are you saying President Bush had a hand in this? I highly doubt that. My bet would be that the money unintentionally ended up in the hands of a few well placed Iraqis who absconded with every bill they could get their hands on.

And I would feel the same way if this happened after the transfer of power in the U.S.

And for the cons that have commented here about how little $6.6 billion would do for our economy, who cares if it would only fund thirty seconds? That is not the point. $6.6 billion does not just get up and walk away. Oh, and no, I don't think we should be rebuilding Iraq.

So we bagged up money in gunnysacks, and sent it off to different Iraqi agencies. And then we expected the money to be put to use rebuilding Iraq. I don't care how honest of a person one may be, handing someone a bag full of $100 bills is going to make even the most honest person think about keeping some of it, if not all of it, for themselves. Now just think what the dishonest person would do being given cash in such a manner. It just makes you want to laugh except for the fact that it was our money.

I don't see anyone saying that sending the money to a war zone is a smart thing. If so, please find the quote. I see the point that nobody thinks the government will do the right thing with that money REGARDLESS of whether it's spent on the fighting or not.

If there is a wrong way to use money, the government will search with all it's might to find it.
