6.6 billion in the trash can

Who cares? Obama threw 6 TRILLION into the trash can, and you bitchin about this? TM, your priorities are whack.

They sent that cash with NO tracking people.

They did it on purpose.
And you want to increase gubmint bureaucracy because..... why? You like this kinda stuff? You think it's not been done EVERYWHERE in the government?

It's not like the bureaucrat will get in trouble for this fuckup. And if he did, he'll just quit, and be rehired in a different department.

First Truth really doesn't matter it was the Iraqis money not ours
Second the Money made it to Baghdad
Third the money was stored in a Vault in Baghdad
Fourth the money was accessed by both Iraqi's and the US
Sixth the event took place 7 years ago its a little late to start crying about it now.

The mere fact that there was graft corruption discountability in a nation torn apart by war I would think shouldn't come as a huge shocker to anyone....evidently except you to whom you fancy your self as being "Smart"

bullshit, it was why they went to Iraq , they planned on raping it and they did..

Now you will pick up the tab because you allowed them to run our country and praised them at every turn.

Why do you think the program was done without one single attempt to follow the money????????

Because they already had a plan to make it disapear.

Um, if you bothered to read the article, you'd see that it was Iraqi money in the first place

It was money being paid to Iraq for oil, seized assets and the UN oil for food program. If it never reached the Iraqi people and disappeared while it was still in our possession, then it was still our money and we more than likely ended up sending another $6.6 in its place.

"Iraqi officials are threatening to go to court to reclaim the money, which came from Iraqi oil sales, seized Iraqi assets and surplus funds from the United Nations' oil-for-food program."

Oops.

It wasn't USA money.

Sorry, sorry, sorry.

Ya so for a smart person this is why it came from our federal reserve trucked to a stop loaded on a plane transported to a bank to a sealed vault in Iraqi with Iraqi and US observers.....Just so they could Steal it.

Well Truth Really Doesn't Matter that's one hell of a story

She is getting desperate is all… She has never changed the mind of another human being to see things her way, in fact, she has become a liability to the left as people find her so stupid they go out and research things themselves because she sounds so fucking dumb. There is a reason people say that by the off chance TM and I agree I have to re fact check what I’m talking about.

TM looks for every opportunity now to claim the stimulus worked despite the fact that we are still in the “great recession), the recession Obama claimed is over and now look to possibly end up in a depression, the one Obama unknowingly (lol) saved the country from when his stimulus failed to live up to a single goal it was created to achieve.

TM sits back and rewrites history with cherry picking information and uses “opinion pieces” (blogs) as facts… She now claims the CBO said the stimulus worked because they ran “new numbers” to prove something that blatantly failed is now magically a successes. It kills me that 1 side so accurately predicted where we would land after the stimulus’s and bail-outs but all of those numbers, estimates and projections receive no credit because, well, they were right on.

It came from Iraqi oil, it disappeared in iraq while under OUR care.

Now guess who is going to pay it back to the Iraqis under international law?

You people are such dupes you will vote these crumbums right back in if you could.

That depends on whether or not the funds were ever transferred to Iraqi control. The article mentions that the US stored it in a vault at a Hussein palace and at US Bases. If it was never transferred to Iraqi hands, it would still be our problem... not that I think we should be giving them a dime, mind you!

Robert I am smart and so are you.

why are you trying to use "smart" as an insult?

This month, the Pentagon and the Iraqi government are finally closing the books on the program that handled all those Benjamins. But despite years of audits and investigations, U.S. Defense officials still cannot say what happened to $6.6 billion in cash — enough to run the Los Angeles Unified School District or the Chicago Public Schools for a year, among many other things.

For the first time, federal auditors are suggesting that some or all of the cash may have been stolen, not just mislaid in an accounting error. Stuart Bowen, special inspector general for Iraq reconstruction, an office created by Congress, said the missing $6.6 billion may be "the largest theft of funds in national history."

the facts are in the article folks
