I'm speaking from experience. Lots of highspanics where I live. The lack of effort to assimilate at home puts pressure on the community to pick up that job. Every sign in every store is in Spanish and English and English must be specified in almost all areas of commerce. Not to mention the effort required in public schools to accommodate non-english speakers. That entails cost.

I have no intention of denying anyone the right to speak any language they wish anywhere. The onus is on encouraging assimilation and ostracizing those who refuse to make the effort. The result of not doing that is segregation and added costs.
