God could have 'told' them to run...not sure if God promised what the result would be.

Does that mean that the 3 or 4 that lose the primary are going to run as independents? Or are they going to explicitly deny gods will? Does this mean god wants Obama to win reelection? Because if there is 1 republican and 3 or 4 independent conservatives, that would be the only way they could guarantee that Obama would win again.

How is it failure for them to do what He tells them to, presuming He did tell them too?

Perhaps He is trying to give us variety in our choices.

Or perhaps He has someone in mind to win, but these other people need to be in the race or they can't win.

The problem many might have is just because God tells you to run, doesn't mean He is telling you you are going to win or that He wants you to win.

People have a tendency to read things into revelations.
