31 Dead USA Soldiers Yesterday Withdraw USA Army From Afghanistan?

Bring our boys home WASHINGTON POLITICIANS or send your own sons and daughters to die- Don't tie their hands according to the ROE- Let them fight or bring them the hell home! ENOUGH ALREADY!

We have a volunteer army, so your comment about politicians sending their own out is a little silly.

However, I totally agree with the second sentiment - let them fight or bring them home. Obama is a dangerously naive Commander in Chief.

I agree, let them kick ass or bring them home...

It's not silly when politicians run a war instead of Commanders in the field.

Yesterday was the biggest human loss for USA army in a single day when 31 USA soldiers died including 22 Navy seals and other 7 Afghan soldiers also died.

Will this tragedy force Obama to withdraw USA army from Afghanistan right now because USA debts has been downgraded for the first time after year 1917. There is serious financial situation in the world.

My understanding says that somebody has supplied high-tech and sophisticated missiles to Taliban and terrorists in Afghanistan. If this is true then USA army is in big danger figthing in Afghanistan and they should withdraw immediately.

All of Obama's decisions result in negative for the USA economy and its citizens. God is angry with Obama.

Since when have rocket propelled grenades been regarded as high tech and sophisticated? :cuckoo:

From the news I've seen Colin the attack was at night, they think Iran has supplied the Taliban with night vision equipment.

Yes. This War is over. We got the scum responsible for 911. So now it's time to come Home. Forcing our brave Soldiers to fight a stupid Drug War and prop up a corrupt Government, was never part of the original Mission. They have completed their Mission. They are true Heroes. Lets bring them Home and celebrate. America could use a big celebration at this point. So my advice to the President would be to bring our kids home right now.

Ya cause we lost a few men lets tuck tail and run. That should send the right message to every petty dictator and terrorist in the world. All they need do is kill 30 or so people and the Government will capitulate.

How about we stop assuming that militarily we can fly anywhere we want. We learned that lesson in Vietnam, 40 years ago. How about assuming the enemy can see and hear you at night just like we can? How about not flying 40 troops in an essentially a Cargo chopper to hostile territory with out proper recon and intel?

The Chinook is armed but just with door guns. It is slow and HUGE. It was built as a cargo and troop transport. It was not intended to fly into hostile territory unaccompanied. And no helicopter is safe in any area if the enemy has anti air weapons. If Propelled Grenades brought it down then on top of that it was flying to LOW.

The commanders on the GROUND screwed this one up. I seriously doubt any POLITICIAN had anything to do with the orders or plans employed on this mission.

I hear ya. Good points. But it's time to declare Victory over there and come Home. We got the scum responsible for 911. The War has been won. Now they're just forcing our brave Soldiers to fight a stupid Drug War and prop up a dirty corrupt Government. That wasn't the original Mission. The original Mission has been accomplished. There is nothing more to be gained over there. Bring them home and celebrate them as conquering Heroes. Hey,just my opinion anyway.

I don't know if we should "Withdraw" so much as we should have an honest discussion of what our goals were, and whether they are acheivable.

Obama took the position in 2008 that Afghanistan was the "War of Necessity" while Iraq was the "War of Choice". This was a nice way of having his cake and eating it, too. He could appeal to the anti-Iraq War crowd and still look tough on foreign policy. And since the Surge in Iraq had pretty much settled the issue, there was no danger of him having to actually make good on his promise to sell our allies down the Tigris in Iraq.

Having taken that position, it was incumbant upon him to take action in Afghanistan after blaming Bush for neglecting it. But a major thing changed on his way to the Forum. Karzai essentially stole the 2009 election, making the premise that we were in Iraq to help them establish a Democracy a lie. Al Qaeda long ago abandoned Afghanistan for friendlier places in Pakistan, Somaila and Yemen. That just left us taking one side in the interminable Afghan Civil War which has been going on since 1978.

We are not going to be able to turn Afghanistan into a western capitalist democracy any more than the Soviets were able to turn it into a Socialist Paradise. It's just not that kind of place.

My guess is, Obama is trying to put up enough of a fight to show he tried to do something, and get us out in a timely enough factor so he can claim victory, hoping that the moment when we are evacuating people off the roof of the Embassy in Kabul is long after he's secured re-election.

God is angry with Obama? Okay, another nutjob in the forum. Yay!

this war is dubyas war the halfwit knew anything about history america would never have gone near that shithole country. Not one drop of christian blood to be wasted on these rsoles.

So it's Bush's fault.

Figures.

The Dems were belly-aching that Iraq was the dirty war and Afghanistan was the place we needed to be fighting.

Horse shit. Bush used the Northern Alliance to fight in Afghanistan. He knew about the history of the place. He made sure we chose the frontlines, not the enemy, and Obama made Afghanistan into the mess it is today because he thinks it's against his sensibilities to attempt to gain a military victory.

The bottom line is that these wars are costing us a fortune. We aren't going to really change anything in the end. If we are concerned about terrorists, put more money into prevention here at home. Next time, if there is a next time, that radical Muslims kill innocent Americans, all we need to do is bomb the shit out of our Muslim country of choice. Kill 250,000 Muslims and tell them it is payback. Then come back home. Let them know, every time there is an attack that takes innocent American lives, this is how we will respond. Maybe then, Muslims will think about clamping down on the radicals themselves.

For once I agree with you!

But could we saturate bomb the entire East Afganistan/West Pakistan region as soon as our troops are out? Just to make a point?

Nah,lets save the Bombs & Money. The War over there has been won so lets just leave it at that.

World War 2 was fought for 7 years only but Afghanistan war is 10 years old and seems endless.

Obama thinks Taliban is finished in Afghanistan. Why did US army suffer the biggest loss yesterday? I think Taliban is stronger now because middle east revolution and help from America's rivals. If they cannot finish the job in 10 years they better get the hell out of there.

Some years back, 2 chinook helicopters were hit by rocket propelled grenades by taliban fighters in Afghanistan. The helicopters crashed 5 miles away but nodoby was killed in the crash.

Yesterday 31 USA soliders died in Chinook crash. How is this possible?

The same way they planned and executed the decimation of the WTC in September of 2001. They have eyes and ears all over the Middle East, and our troops are amongst all of them. It's just as mean now as it was in 2001, except now we lack a strong military leadership with an I-me-my-mine Commander in Chief decimating free enterprise and its fiscal ability to protect the nation from people who hate us.

We'll suffer till he and Secretary of State Clinton are dismissed from their self-serving duties.

Obama's already dropped out remaining stockpile on Libya.

One thing, the majority of those killed were sailors and airmen, not soldiers. The pilots were Army, but most of the troops killed in the back of the helicopter were Navy and Air Force.

Our men and women have served honorably , away from home, family, friends.. facing an enemy and terrain as hostile as we've ever witnessed. They have been gone for nearly a decade.. when is enough, enough??! What purpose is this serving?? Can anyone answer those questions? What are we accomplishing in Afghanistan? Please, someone tell me.. and whatever it is, is it worth the lives of such great men?! If it were your own flesh and blood aboard that chopper last night, is the fight in Afghanistan worth your son's life? I could understand if we had a clear mission with the INTENT to WIN.. BUT DAMN IT, we don't and everyone damn well knows it.. so we use our brave military as pawns in this political game of chess. Bring them home.. Not one more dime of treasure and certainly, NOT ONE MORE DROP OF BLOOD.
