So? Until Trump’s tantrum is over there’s no point to staying in D.C
Its not Trump's tantrum....its the American peoples tantrum...we want the border secure like they promised after 9-11....build the wall....

A Quinnipiac poll of 1,147 voters reached on landlines or cell phones from Dec. 12-17 found that 54 percent of respondents opposed the wall and 43 percent supported it. A Harvard CAPS/Harris online survey of 1,407 registered voters conducted Dec. 24-26 found that 56 percent of those surveyed did not support a wall, while 44 percent did.

Just 35 percent of those surveyed supported including money for the wall in a federal spending bill, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll of 2,440 adults conducted online Dec. 21-25.

More than two-thirds of Americans don’t think the wall should be a priority, according to a poll of 1,075 adults by NPR, PBS News Hour and Marist. That poll was conducted Nov. 28-Dec. 4 using live telephone interviews to reach both landlines and cell phones.

Regardless of Americans’ opinions about the wall, they’re not happy with how the government shutdown is being handled by either Congress or Trump. Just 18 percent of Americans polled say they approve of how Congress has handled the shutdown, with 60 percent disapproving, a new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds. As for Trump, 38 percent approve of how he’s handling it, and 49 percent disapprove, according to the poll.

Where’s the Kos poll?

Dems fly to Puerto Rico on chartered jet, meet with lobbyists, see 'Hamilton' as shutdown drags on

Despite a partial government shutdown with no end in sight, about 30 Democratic members of Congress traveled to Puerto Rico this weekend -- with their families and lobbyists -- for a winter retreat where they also planned to see a special performance of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton.”

Those attending the Congressional Hispanic Caucus BOLD PAC gathering in San Juan also planned to meet Saturday with Puerto Rican officials to discuss ongoing cleanup efforts from Hurricane Maria, according to a report.

“This year’s winter retreat promises to be our most widely attended yet with over 220 guests, including 39 Members of Congress and CHC BOLD PAC supporters expected to attend and participate!” a planning memo said.

Come on Trump, get on with it, declare a national emergency, get the shutdown over, and get the wall built. The dems are not interested in governing, they are girding for 2020 and all out war.

Big deal. They are meeting with their most important constituents: R.J. Reynolds, Facebook, Comcast, Amazon, PhRMA, Microsoft, Intel, Verizon, and unions like the National Education Association.

Who stand to lose money if these Congress critters don't get back to work and vote. I'm betting the list of who went to P.R. will coincide with who votes to end the shutdown.

Not much can get done at the moment, Senator McConnell isn’t in the Capital either.

Probably in sunny Puerto-Rico.

No, he’s in Kentucky...also not doing his job.

Let's see...middle of January...temperature in Washington is what? Temperature in Puerto Rico is what?

Let's be honest here, Kiddies...they've been planning this trip for a long time! It's a vacation in sunny climes disguised as work and it's on your dime! You couldn't get them to cancel this trip if WWIII broke out!

Why aren't Chuck and Nancy in the capital, working on settling this? President Trump has made it clear, the next step on this is theirs.

If they came to the WH and bent a knee, agreeing to Border Security, the President would end the shutdown.

Pretty much spells out where the Democrat Party's priorities lie.

Question: What's the difference between a terrorist and a Democrat?

Answer: Not a damned thing.

At least you’re being level-headed about it and not cheapening the acts of terror/terrorists.

Trump can end the shutdown in a hot minute if he wanted .

The President has made it clear that abandoning the Wall is a non-starter.

So are you suggesting that the President use extreme methods to get Chuck and Nancy to comply?

Like those used by the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee several years ago?

Who said it was illegal? It's "insensitive" and illustrates a lack of concern.

Maybe when their lobbyist pals realize there's no money to be had unless Trump signs for it, they will decide, "hey, you know what, maybe walls are ok".

We care soooo much about Americans and those without a paycheck that we will not only spend obscene amounts of money to vacation while you worry about your finances but we will have a good time showing you why we are the special elite.

Then just to make things better once we get back from our party we will fiqure out a way to charge all expenses to the government and put out a statement how the shutdown is not our fault and we are hurting as badly as you.
