This is making me pretty mad. First the 14 crashed in helo looking for this team. There wasn't a reason to put down that there were missing service people on the ground. After the first was found, the press kept on "How many others are missing?" For a couple days, no answer from DOD. Then this morning I saw the Tribune had that 3 more were missing. Now there is a Yahoo/AP story that one has been found, but they can't get to him yet. Gee, anyone think the Taliban might have access to the news? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050704...7DOVooA;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl
This is exactly why the media doesn't need to know anything until its over. If there's four guys out there and the Taliban get two of them. And one is rescued. But the Taliban think there were three, the fourth guy can easily avoid capture until he can be rescued. But, now the Taliban have the info that there was a fourth man so they are seriously looking for him. Nothing like announcing everything to the world. Peoples lives are at stake here and the media treats it like its a video game. They can have all the info about whats going on that they want. They just shouldn't be allowed to print it until the operation is completed.
The MSM has made an art form of twisting the truth, not to mention the Constitution, to support their irresponsible behavior and lack of accountability for the same. This isn't going to stop as long as the courts continue to support not holding them accountable for the harm they cause. In the name of "freedom" no less, they have become an uncontrolled monster.
Very true, there was a time when the press provided an additional check and balance to government. Its now moved toward taking power itself. There are checks and balances in government it appears there needs to be some in the media as well.
In total agreement...but I think G84 should be taken into custody and traded for any Special Ops captured...she could give the Taliban Brazilian Wax jobs...a fair trade in my opinion! After all she claims to have all the answeres to warfare!!!!!
Now we know that only 1 is 'missing...' http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/05/international/asia/05afghan.html?th&emc=th
