I am still bummed that my candidate crashed and burned early.

No way do I feel happy that the leading contenders are country club hacks with no more principle than a customer at a payday loan outfit.

Always always always we get these polls about how so and so in unelectable. But they get elected anyway.


What wins elections are ideas, arguments, thoughts. electability is debated by folks who have none of the above. What scares folks and attracts folks is that newt is the guy with ideas. Mostly goofy.

In november it is going to be between ideas that have failed consistently and persistently over the last four years and ideas that made huge peacetime expansions. If Newt survives he will send sparks wich will win. Romney, when it comes to the fire that wins elections is a fire truck and high pressure hose.

Quite often it does not matter what the ideas are that the candidate has, but the fact he has any. That is what got Right wing loon reagan over carter. Even the goofy and vapid ideas of Obama beat out McCain and his vacuum.

So the 23% will see the choice and hold their nose. But they will show up regardless.

Ordinarily, I'd agree. But I have yet to find anything to suggest that Romney is amoral or corrupt... self serving... meh, yea... I could see that.

The issue as I see it is who can beat Obama. As an independent fiscal conservative.... with a huge 'classical liberal' leaning.... I would suggest that Romney is that guy. More importantly... to me at least... is who can best serve America at this very difficult time in our economy... that man is Mitt.

Most independents will vote on economics.... and on that, it's Mitt... hands down.

The Dems have had control for 5 years now. They have proven themselves completely inept, failing to pass a budget for some unprecedented time. They are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. Look at speeches by Nancy Pelosi just before and at the 06 election. It is a joke. People would have to be downright stupid to fall for that. Won't happen.

80-90 percent of the House will hold their seats. Because 40-50% of the people choose not to exercise their right to vote. Of the 50-60% that do, about half are making uninformed choices or, worst yet, voting against someone rather than being happy/informed about whom they are voting for.

We get the government we deserve.

I have said it a few times, Newt will split the Republican party.

In fact if you look at Newts record it's funny how much of a Progressive Obama like liberal he really is... Kinda makes you wonder if Newt is doing this so that Obama does win and the Republicans are so demoralized that they lose the house and Senate fully to Dems.

Newt pulls the average Republican that will vote Republican no matter what. Newt losses massively in real conservatives, truly moral people and independents… This is just how it is, end of story. Newt is not a real candidate, this can be proven on many levels.

1) Newt lost huge in Iowa
2) Newt lost big in NH
3) Newt can’t raise money, instead a billion had to donate MILLIONS to a SuperPAC so Newt had a voice.
4) Newt does well in debates because they are not expected to answer questions but instead insult Obama or liberals or Media…
5) Newt’s message is one of hate and division… Newt has zero plan to bring people together or work together. Newt makes it clear you are either with him or against him, even if you’re a Republican.
