Isn't it ironic how all of these bastions of liberalism actually make it a criminal activity to help the poor and indigent?

In the United States, 21 cities have restricted sharing food with homeless people through legislation or community pressure since January 2013, and about 10 other cities are in the process of doing so, the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) said in a report released Monday.

“One of the most narrow-minded ideas when it comes to homelessness and food-sharing is that sharing food with people in need enables them to remain homeless,” the report said.

The report was released a day before Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was set to vote “on the city’s third ordinance this year that will target the life-sustaining activities of people experiencing homelessness,” the NCH said in a news release.

I didn't realize that Houston and Salt Lake City were liberal towns.

Just the simple fact that there are at least four stalwart liberal cities on that chart with restrictions currently in place should make any American question the meaning of contemporary liberalism.

Well, any smart American, that is.

You're not among our ranks.

This hardly looks like a liberal effort. And there's so much info missing from this thread. For example in Olympia, WA. their legislation reads that organizations can no longer share food with people experiencing homelessness in a public parking lot without obtaining a permit for temporary use, obstruction or a festival event.

That sure the fuck seems more onerous than requiring ID to vote.

Pittsburgh floated this idea several years ago and was so unpopular the council decided not to act any further. Such a silly law.

The reasons why people can no longer give food to the homeless is right out of the big moo playbook. Does the food meet federal nutritional guidelines? Does the food have salt or sugar? Is the preparation area inspected?

Liberal rules. Every one of them.

How many times have elitist fancy restaurants thrown away food instead of donating it to homeless shelters. In NYC.....That bastion of liberalism.
Yes these limousine liberals who pat themselves on the back for showing up at a soup kitchen for 20 minutes on Thanksgiving Day, have a royal snit if some homeless dude wants some food that would be thrown out anyway. Hypocrites

Yes, it just so literally liberal to want to know nutrition values of foodstuffs...
