It’s been more than two months since Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, tweeted that he would sue the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for calling him an anti-Semite. He claimed that the ADL was “a corrupt organization that does more harm than good” and that he had “evidence of their nefarious actions”. He also said that he would donate any money he won from the lawsuit to “charities that actually help people”.
But so far, there has been no sign of any legal action from Musk or his lawyers. No court documents have been filed, no press releases have been issued, no statements have been made. It seems that Musk’s threat was nothing but a bluff, a way to vent his anger and frustration at being criticized for his controversial tweets and actions.
Now wet know Musk would say anything to get attention when he’s angry. He will pretend to have a legal case against those el criticize him. Then he will quietly do nothing about his bluff, hoping people will forget.
But is impossible to forget in the age of the Internet. Every day that passes without him suing the ADL is another day that he embarrasses himself.
