'The House passed a spending bill Thursday to reopen the Department of Transportation and Department of Housing and Urban Development, despite an improbable fate in the Senate and the threat of a presidential veto.

The vote was 244-180.

Twelve Republicans joined with Democrats to support the bill, four more than on Wednesday, when the House passed a bill to reopen the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service.

They'll soon vote on a spending bill to reopen the Department of Agriculture —which runs the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as SNAP or food stamps, as well as the Food and Drug Administration.'

Graham calls on Trump to make emergency declaration to fund border wall

Interesting.

It people start getting food stamps cut off...yikes!!!

Everyone knows the cost of the border wall is chump change in the scheme of things. Barry Hussein spent more on the ludicrous "cash for clunkers" joke in his first two years. Democrats simply won't allow the President to follow through with his premier campaign promise no matter what the cost to federal workers and the American people.

Agreed.

A government that spends trillions annually, and has done so for decades on all sorts of frivolous shit, yet a few billion for border security shuts it down.

It would seem ulterior motives are at play.

Please, I would love to see inner cities start to burn, because Nancy "Blinkie" Pelosi and UpChuck Schmoozer dont want to fund a wall, at our southern border. Just today, President Trump asked the 2 stooges, if he completely funded the government to have it open, would UpChuck and Blinkie give President Trump 5 billion for his wall. They said "no way". So I do hope the welfare checks stop....I am tired of feeding assholes who never thank me for keeping their sorry asses alive.

12 people who should be thrown out of the Republican Party over a bill the President should never even see if the Senate works properly and should Veto if it doesn’t.

Yes, and it would be interesting to see who those people call to get it fixed.

Do you really think President Trump will sign their little bill?

Cash for clunkers produced jobs for American workers, got old polluting cars off the road, and had a lot of positive impact. There is no positive impact for the wall, other than the money paid to the workers building it, and it won't do jack shit for illegal immigation, most of which is visa overstays.

While Trump has been focusing all of his energy, all of his time and all of these resources on the southern border, here is the really important stuff he;s been ignoring:

14,000 Americans died because of opiod addiction, and no that isn't going to be solved with a wall. It's time to limit the prescription and dispensing of prescription opioids.

17 American soldiers died in Afghanistan.

American backed forces in Syria killed over 100 civilians.

The trade deficit with China has grown despite Trump's trade war.

Cash for clunkers was your typical dumbass economic plan promoted big government idiots.

It was wasteful and did almost nothing for the economy, but it did make more Americans debt serfs. It also destroyed many perfectly good used automobiles.

Cash for Clunkers caused the prices of used cars to rise big time and also new cars to rise. Therefore screwing over the working class as usual. I am not against tail pipe pollution improvements either. Also, why do diesel trucks still spew pollution in 2019?

It shut down in a full Republican government. This is a manufactured crisis just like the border one is.
