All this shows is that something is going to kill you. everybody is going to die one way or another and usually it will be by their own actions from drunk driving to reading their cell phone while walking across the street but I think theres something about being a helpless victim that irks some people and gives them the need to defend them self. Killing people is not the only use for an AR style rifle. I used one for several years hunting coyote.

They sure are effective killing many really fast.

Then why is it rifles of any kind are used in less than 2% of all murders?

Yup! - We lost & wounded as many in Vegas in 10 minutes as in the battle for Fallujah, Iraq that was the blodiest battle of the entire war & lasted nearly 2 months

It's on you to prove the numbers wrong. Yeah a whopping 333 criminals shot a year.

Because criminals tend to be cowards, and will surrender or run away when confronted by a citizen with a gun.

And even the FBI has said that an estimated 100,000 crimes are stopped or prevented by civilians with firearms. Other sources estimate that number to much, much higher.

And we have much higher crime rates than countries with good gun control.

No....London is now more violent than New York city and as our gun crime rate has gone down their gun crime rate is going through the roof....

That is one thing that seems to be ignored by those wanting to ban any firearms. That our violent crime rates have been going down steadily since the 1970s.

Sane folks understand that "military style" does not make a gun an assault weapon.

Extensive ammo clips can mean the difference between the victim of a home invasion living or dying. The last you want to happen while 6 hood rats are invading your home to rape your wife and daughters is to run out of ammo.

one of the things i completely ignore is murder rates and suicide rates , accidents , killings while using GUNS in a nation that has stupidly allowed itself to grow to about 330 million people . Actually they are increasing your chances of surviving.

The high capacity magazine weapons tend to have smaller bullets with a lower kinetic energy. If you ban them, then people will go for as much power as possible, increasing the odds of death. A 9MM has about half the kinetic energy of a .357 Magnum. An AR-15 firing the 5,56 NATO round has about half the kinetic energy of a .308 round. Ban the scary weapons if you want greater fatalities.
