Rep. Greene says she will force vote over Speaker Johnson’s ouster next week

Marjorie Taylor Greene announced Wednesday she will force a vote over House Speaker Mike Johnson’s ouster next week – a move that comes after Democrats have said they will vote to kill the effort and ensure Johnson doesn’t lose his job.

“I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote and let the chips fall where they may and so next week, I am going to be calling this motion to vacate. Absolutely, calling it,” she said at a news conference.

Greene’s decision puts an end to weeks of speculation over whether she would move forward to trigger the consequential vote. The move escalates pressure on Johnson and sets up a major showdown on the House floor, even though the vote is expected to fail.

Johnson has defended his leadership against the threat, saying that he will not resign and warning that a vote to oust him could cause chaos in the House.

“This motion is wrong for the Republican Conference, wrong for the institution, and wrong for the country,” the speaker said in a statement after Greene’s announcement.

Many Republicans oppose the push to oust Johnson and do not want to see the House GOP Conference devolve into disarray like it did after former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted in a historic and unprecedented vote last year.

He got billions for Ukraine and left out any semblance of border security. The democrats will save him if put to a vote and she knows it......More infighting to detract from real issues.

Go ahead, keep it up and the blame the voters when one day, "for no reason at all", the republicans lost control of the house, the senate, and the WH.
Let it go! Johnson isn't the problem, the RNC is, the DNC is!

Mike Johnson works for the same people the democrats work for, the WEF.

If the WEF/democrats and their rino operatives aren't stopped, America will receive 1 billion migrants by 2030, by land sea and air. Soon, it will be millions a month.

[ka'ching] ... good for people smart enough to CASH IN ... [ka'ching ka'ching ka'ching] ...

Greene and her pals may as well provide us a circus for the remainder of this congress. Heaven forbid they do actual work like getting the 2025 fiscal budget completed within the next 5 months. Even if there's no chance, fight for 2025 spending cuts and have it (fiscal responsibility) put out there for voters in November.

As a liberal ... I'm allowed to agree with Matt Gaetz ... the House needs to lock themselves in until all 12 Appropriations Bills are ready for the Senate to consider ... only the House can do this, and until it's done, they need to STFU ...

I don't care how ugly they are ... I am a liberal after all ... it just total cowardice to not try ... MAGA Mile Johnson ... total cowardice ...

... just give the gavel back to Nancy ... same different right now anyway ...
There is a massive difference between a Prog speaker and a Republican one. A Prog speaker can be comatose and win legislation. All of the Prog Reps fall in line even if they talk moderate crap. The only argument is how far left they go with it. In reality, common sense is not winning as we argue. The entertainment and education system keeps moving left.

All of society moves left ... do you see how hypocritical it is to complain about progress on the internet ... that's just like pissing in your own canteen ...

Johnson might be a shit person. But the bills he presented were voted on by representatives and passed. That is the actual will of the people.
Greene is annoyed that the will of the people prevailed.. She should focus on winning more seats for her nutty views rather than playing games.

Tyranny of the majority ...

Only four counties in Oregon decide everything ... the other 21 counties have to follow ... or join the 11 counties that voted to merge with Idaho ... it doesn't seem fair Portland/Eugene can tell us we have to let boys play on girl's teams ... that's for the local school board to decide ...

If the kids want to go hunting after school, they need to keep their guns in their lockers during school hours ... it's too disruptive otherwise ...
