Does this also apply to firearms?

Keep practising, one day you'll hit that barn door.

Ya think so?

Ruger GP100 357 magnum 6" barrel, 125 grain cast bullet handloads, six shots @25 yards from a sandbag rest last week. Those are low-velocity stuff I load for plinking, only doing around 1,020 fps measured on the chronograph. The black circle measures 2-3/4".

When I load 125 grain jacketed XTP bullets, I use slower-burning Hodgdon H-110 and magnum primers. Those I push up to around 1,560 fps.

Glock 42, .380 at 30 feet, offhand. Good enough for self-defense. 12" target, 2" bullseye, 4" group. Such guns are " spray and pray" with such short barrels.
