But, you have to pass extensive background check, go through training, mental health evaluation and permits…

Why don’t we do this to all gun owners?
Your question is simple. Not all gun owners will be interacting in our Tennessee Schools, with our students on a daily basis, so 40 hours a year is an unrealistic, unnecessary standard, simply meant to disarm the vast majority of weapons owners, and weapons carriers, including Carry permit holders, who have passed state approved training, regarding safety, use, legal aspects, weapons handling, firing familiarization, range instruction, qualification, state, local and federal background checks, carried out by the Department of Homeland defense.

I am not saying this is a good idea, in our schools, at least not for the vast majority to teachers and employees, but the standard if applied to everyday Tennessean or citizens of other states, would simply be an unconstitutional attempt to disarm US Citizens, and simply will not fly.

Why do you think she suggested it?

He's still going to not spend any time in jail.
Fine with me. That is an active individual case for that court and that process.

If you are talking about the OP, it is obvious, that person is in favor of stripping the 2nd Amendment, grabbing presently illegal and legal weapon in the hand of civilians, making is so only criminals and the government had guns. Pretty well defines the OP as a gun grabber, an enemy of the US Constitution, and the Citizens of the United States.

Wouldn't you think you would have to go through a mental evaluation to become a teacher?

As I am sure someone has pointed out…..33 states already have programs for allowing some teachers and staff to be armed…..some states, like Utah, have had these programs for decades….

And nothing you assholes have predicted has happened……and of all the mass public school shootings….they have all happened in gun free zone schools…..

For those who have attended democrat party controlled public schools where they do not teach students how to read, write or do math…….33 out of 50 is a majority……so a majority of states already have these programs….

Anti-gun loons, unthinkingly and out of hand, predict blood in the streets every time a state loosens their gun laws.
And it never, ever, turns out that way.
Much to their chagrin

Do you think he should?
He did, after all, illegally purchase and possessed a firearm.
And committed perjury.

Serious question: do most POLICE OFFICERS spend 40 hours a year in firearms training?

No, much to their disappointment.

Because it's ripe for abuse....
Eventually you'll get the psych evaluator who thinks being a certain political affiliation is mental illness. When it comes to this particular thing you can't trust the human input.
