Judge Cannon pushes back Trump deadline for filing

Postpones date for Trump filing deadline. Doubtful this will got to court before election day.

The ruling by the judge, Aileen M. Cannon, was made in a bare-bones order that contained no factual or legal reasoning. It did not schedule a new deadline but erased the one she had set almost a month ago ordering Mr. Trump’s lawyers to file by Thursday a detailed list of the classified materials that they intend to introduce at the trial, which is set to take place at some point in Federal District Court in Fort Pierce, Fla.
That list is enormously consequential because, when filed, it will mark the first step in what will ultimately be a pitched battle between the defense and prosecution over what sorts of classified materials the jury will get to hear about at trial — a contested process, balancing issues of public access and national security, that could take months to complete.

Judge Cannon Indefinitely Postpones Jack Smith’s Classified Documents Trial After Special Counsel Admits to Evidence Tampering

7 May 2024 ~~ By Cristina Laila

Judge Aileen Cannon on Tuesday afternoon indefinitely postponed Jack Smith’s classified documents trial against Trump.
As previously reported, Judge Cannon on Monday night postponed a key deadline in the classified documents case after Special Counsel Jack Smith admitted to tampering with evidence.

Commentary:
The truth shall set you free and Jack Smith's admission should send him to prison.
"In a motion filed late Friday, Jack Smith admitted the FBI messed with the boxes containing “classified” documents they seized from Trump and can’t be sure the order or the placement of the documents."
It's OBVIOUS that the grand jury was not told the evidence was planted or at least suspect. Which would make the case brought incorrectly altogether and the indictment would be challenged.
Jack Smith don’t know Jack .. but we do know Obama put him up to this criminally political persecution.

He'll be tried and convicted after he loses the election. Fine with that.
Lol

After the election, the obvious purpose of these bullshit persecutions will be outdated. You can no longer interfere with an election once it’s all over. So, for one reason or another, the man will have the cases against him dropped by then.

Basically the trial is over....
Not going to be picked back up.

Between prosecutor's misconduct and the nature of the classified materials....it's over. Never to see the light of day again.

Basically Trump won his case.
No conviction....no "not guilty" verdict either And the trial halted indefinitely.

And this ALWAYS was a likely outcome of a case like this. You do NOT prosecute former Presidents. It's like one of the dumbest things in the world to do because it's obviously patently false and nothing more than petty political bickering as well as a HUGE WASTE of time and resources that could have been better spent on congressional insider trading.

She's clearly in the bag for the defendant This latest ruling basically postpones the trial date indefinitely. That is not in the service of a "speedy trial" nor is it in the best interests of the government. This needs to be over and done with before the election.

She not been nicknamed "loose" cannon for nothing.
LOL....So the lawfare is just fine as long as it's going your way....Got it!

How stupid would it be to start a trial that could be ended when the Supreme Court makes their ruling? Common sense says postponing it is the smart call. Oh, I get it now
