For most of human history man did not have guns...and butchered each other with primitive weapons....and the important point...primitive weapons favor the young and the strong and the aggressive which is why slavery was a world wide problem....

Guns allow the weak, the old, the outnumbered to fight off stronger, more aggressive more numerous attackers as we see in stories of self defense where senior citizens fight off multiple, young attackers , often without having to fire a shot......

Getting rid of guns is just a stupid idea, and would make the more vulnerable people in our society easier victims for the young, strong criminals.....

sorry, but that isn't accurate.....there are only between 8-11,000 gun murders a year.....and all of the research shows that the number of times a gun is used for self defense is no less than 764,000 times a year...and an average of gun studies that exclude,police and military use show the number could be as high as 2 million times a year....I have 16 studies that show their numbers...

so, there is no tit for tat....the benefit of guns for law abiding citizens far out weigh criminals using them for crime...

and again...accidental gun deaths in 2013.....505 and that number is on the decline as more Americans own and carry guns.....

If guns were the only thing changed I don't think it would effect crime rates including murder. Guns while making murder easy don't turn a criminal into a murderer. I don't believe any country who has banned guns has had a decrease in crime rates.

You can also find one story after another of a young child finding their parent's gun and accidentally killing themselves or another family member, and you can find stories of people who had guns for protection having those guns taken from them and used on them. Just because you find one situation that supports your viewpoint, that does not make it completely valid on its own.

sorry, but that isn't accurate.....there are only between 8-11,000 gun murders a year.....and all of the research shows that the number of times a gun is used for self defense is no less than 764,000 times a year...and an average of gun studies that exclude,police and military use show the number could be as high as 2 million times a year....I have 16 studies that show their numbers...

so, there is no tit for tat....the benefit of guns for law abiding citizens far out weigh criminals using them for crime...

and again...accidental gun deaths in 2013.....505 and that number is on the decline as more Americans own and carry guns.....

so no...brain posting stories about dead kids on this site is no where near the truth or the reality of the gun situation in this country.....guns save more lives every day than they take....and more people would be raped, robbed and murdered without access to guns.....

Yes and a large number of accidental firearm deaths is unique to the U.S. among modern societies. So yes it is a problem. Like I said Germany has fewer gun homicides than we have accidental deaths.

We have more accidental shooting deaths than all of western Europe combined. We have more accidental shooting deaths than Germany has homicides with a gun. Yes it is a problem. You sound like the number of guns we have is the problem.
