The winner of the race was determined by a random drawing on January 4, 2018, which resulted in the Republicans holding a 51–49 majority.

Naw, that doesn't pass the smell test. Clinton won Tennessee in 96. Gore should have easily won't it. Oh yeah, he won it in 92 also.

The commissioner of one of the Prog Southeast counties had a stupid ballot design. And Pat Buchanon got votes that were meant for Gore. FOX called the race while the panhandle which is an hour behind in time was still voting and is mostly Republican. Gore had no excuse losing his home state in a tight race. He wins Tennessee, he is President. Florida means nothing.
