The tariffs China has imposed on US goods means US agricultural exports to China have been effectively stopped. I think sorghum, for example, is at 10% of last year's figure.
China is looking to South America for its imports, so I guess you're right, no trade has been cut off, just shifted. I suppose the US will look to shift to its domestic market now for its soy, wheat, sorghum, etc., etc..
