"Leonard Ridge, one of the youngest defendants in the Jan. 6 attacks on the Capitol, who also bragged about his participation, must spend two weeks in prison for his involvement in the insurrection. The sentence was handed down after his lawyer asked that a judge go light on sentencing after citing medical studies which suggest his client’s brain might not have fully matured at the time of the incident. Now 20 year old Ridge broke down the doors to the offices of Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and later bragged that he “made history.”

Laguzzi noted in her sentencing memo to the court last month that some studies have found that a person’s brain is not fully developed until they’re in their mid-20s -- Boasberg ordered a one-year probation sentence after Ridge’s release from prison and 100 hours of community service to be completed during that time."

At the end of the day, I don't think this child meant any harm...he got caught up in the moment and as his lawyer correctly pointed out -- he is just a child and it is correct, his brain isn't fully developed...Doing jail time seems kind of harsh for something as minor as what this kid did; I mean I can see if this was some kid named Ali Fariq Abdul that did all of this; that would definitely be a form of terrorism...but to treat a good kid like Ridge as if he is some kind of dangerous criminal is ridiculous....

Oh, horseshit.

But, fine, if their brains aren't fully developed, let's raise the voting age to 27. After all, we can't let those little kettles of mush on their shoulders dictate how our government will be run.

Would that be fine with you?

This 20yr old "child" as you call him, needs to be taught a lesson, since his mind was wrongfully influenced by conspiracy theory insurrectionists. All of a sudden, a 20yr old is a "child"? A 20yr old is not a child, and the insurrection was not a "love fest"with kissing and hugging, as described by that con-man.

Well if you are only going to hold people to account who have a fully developed brain, then how will we ever hold democrats to account for anything...............ever?

What ridiculous bullshit, the only 20 year old person you would ever call a child is your own.

We send 18 year olds to fight wars.

You might ask Buff Porndexter, to let you in on the secret.

"None of these supposed rioters have had due process. Tyrannical regimes specialize in unlawful practices. Yeah, seriously."

I would wish the above comment from good poster LordTrout to be said --or read ---- with a wink.
Because it ain't serious.

I love this bar. I come here in the morning after breakfast....with a fresh coffee and I read some of the threads & posts.
(not all, I ain't THAT strong).

And I gotta admit those guys who seem to be MAGAHats, or neo-Republicans are the funniest. In sort of a tragi-comic way.

They evidence the most entertaining (to me) tics of being misinformed, illinformed, uninformed. Not to mention nutjobbery and jackassery. They are Conspiracy Central....ala' "none-got-due-process".
Far more so, it seems, than those who I suspect as NeverTrumpers, or even Democrats.

None of the MAGAHats here represents conservatism in a flattering light. Most come across as illogical under-educated goofs. Sort of AlexJones-lite.

As far as the claim that got me to post this morning, the one about 'none got due process'.....welll, except those who promptly admitted what they had done was wrong, plead guilty, and stood for the punishment the Federal District court felt was appropriate.
Those seemed 'due'. In my eyes.

Honest, I love this bar. ;)

Those are from the attorneys who represent the ones being held in solitary confinement. Not I.
